Post New Owner (New Zealand)

Currently just purchased a Japanese Import, and looking for help with getting someone to maybe scan me a copy of there car tyre puncture system as mine is currently in Japanese writing, just want to know how the puncture system works.

Also my car might have an alarm but is this manufactures product, when I lock the car with remote and open with door key the horn sounds, but that it. The car has an alarm sticker on it, but checked under bonnet and can't see anything. Also before I can turn ignition I have to press clutch in. Is the above normal items thats with RX8?

Appreciate any help given to a new owner.

PB

welcome pierre!! yes you have an alarm. hit the panic button on the remote- thats wha tit sounds like. or leave a window down and then lock the car. reach thru the oopen window unlock the door and open it. the alarm will sound. oh have teh remote close by so you can shut it off and dont do it in the garage as that will double the noise level- i know i did it:D yes a clutch safety switch is normal for all cars nowadays.

You really should get an entire owners manual in English. Try your local dealer. The section on the puncture repair system is 8 pages long, so it will take a little time to scan and upload. As an alternative, send me a Private Message with your e-mail address and I'll e-mail you the entire manual in PDF format. Otherwise, I'll scan the pages and post them later today or tomorrow.

Alarm....

There is an upgrade for the alarm system available, it is a shock sensor module, about $45US. Wires in under the dash.
Enjoy your '8!
I will post 'fix-a-flat' instructions if needed, when I get home from work.

Thanks for the advice, have been quoted $750NZ for getting the upgrade by Mazda, which is a shock sensor, not sure where they get this from if your saying $45US.

Cheers

That is a good looking car, I love the color too. Is it on the boat or something?

Is that Fiat Punto I see parked in front of it in the first pic? lol.

lol, nah it was at the car auction. I havent got time to take more pics yet outside.
yea, love the interior, its sorta best part i like about it. It's green btw (not sure what green to be exact)

btw, pierre today i got called from someone who said can install a chip for my japanese gps / monitor / radio system, for only 200 kiwi bux, he can expand the radio tuner, get gps working for nz, and allow tv to play local channels, and change language to english.
sounds like a good deal to me, but the problem, it's not even a garage/ shop who offered, was just some guy who has own workshop at home..
it sounds a bit dodgy to me, im wondering if anyone knows it's possible, cos I havent seen on the forum about upgrading chip in the system..
