Thanks for the warm welcome!
I've been reading a lot about these cars, and I have read some horror stories, and all that... But I had an XBF with an RX-7, and I just fell in love with it.
He let me drive it on occasion...
jerk.
But now I get to drive this beast when ever I want!!! MINE!
Anything that I should know right off the bat? Little quirks that they are known for, things I should be looking for?
I know how to drive this car, and I enjoy every second of it... so far this car is just a dream!
Thanks!

Oh!
I have owned the car for 4 days now, and I have had the oil changed and plan to do it every 5k miles... I would love to be able to do the work myself, I will just need to be walked through things. Hope I can count on you guys to help me!
As far as what spoiler is on the car... I can be honest with you and tell you that I do not know. I will try to find out... it's nice though, and I love the way this car runs, drives, handles... it's just as effin perfect as I knew it would be.
I have never had the pleasure of working on a rotary, but I'm super willing to learn.
BTW... crookedness now awesomeness... heh... I fixed the strake. I didn't even notice it! *slaps forehead*
So far, I can't seem to find another car that I would rather be driving. After my experiences with the RX-7... I wanted this car so bad, and I have to say that I am more pleased with it that I ever expected. I drove almost 40 of these cars before finding this one, with 33k miles on it. It acts drives and looks like it's brand new... I've just fell in love... all over again!

LMAO!
I've noticed it already! I came out of the store today, and someone was drooling on my hood...
Fredericksburg... I just drove through Dallas on the way back with the car... I bought it in WV... WONDERFUL road trip... it was amazing the amount of people staring as they drove by... I really didn't expect the reaction to this car. I know this car is badass... I just didn't know that everyone else did too...
Edited for stupid.

Since the rotary burns oil by design, do not wait until 5,000 miles to change the oil.
I recommend it be done every 3,000

i would also recommend that the oil be changed every 3,000 miles, the engine runs very hot and it uses very thin oil so it burns through very fast as stated before, and you should make a habit of checking your oil every 2-3 gas fill ups, just to make sure things are looking good. generally for me i top it off with a quart of oil every 2,000-2,200 miles. also, you should give the car a nice HARD drive every now and then, which is almost a give in, i dont know how a soul could drive this car conservatively!!! haha a second gear redline will depleat the engine of carbon build up which is will help the engine run longer.
congrats on the purchase none-the-less and drive it like hell!!!! you finally found your one last true love in life, and im pretty sure i can speak for most memebers here.

Welcome to the scene! I've been doing a bunch of stupid fun stuff to my car lately and would love to help answer any questions (Puddle lights, footwell lights, coil swap, midpipe install, exhaust install, carbon wrap, cutting emblems, painting engine plastics...see, the useless stuff).
Beautiful looking beast and hope you love it! Do drive it hard I would say at least once a week, you're lucky you live in a warmer environment, in Seattle it's like 45 and raining most of the time here so I have to be careful on the roads...If I were where you are, I would romp on it any day of the week (especially with the sound it makes right now?!?! Mmmmmmmm)
CONGRATS AGAIN!

Likewise new owner
I just bought an R3 -- no problem driving it like hell --- as you know. Had it for a week, already added almost 1k miles -- and most of it very hard. Not so great for mileage, but who cares!

Welcome Krys!. Congrats on the car.
Check out this thread first. https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-forum-197/new-potential-owners-start-here-202454/
It's a great overview and should answer any general questions you have.
Oh behalf of the forum leg humpers: You must post pics of you with the car.
/ leghumping
Enjoy the forums and the car.
