Does any one have any techniques that they can suggest for fun/aggressive driveing ughh my spelling is terrible...... So any suggestions would be cool. thanks guys

I think you need to be a bit more specific... Maybe look for your local SCCA chapter and take it to an autox. Or be a real man and get some extra tires and wheels and head out for some rallyx :p

 

Rip the brake pedal out of the car. Thats aggressive I would say.

 

SPRRY for the vaugeness of the situation. I just meant having fun with this car really putting it to its full potential did that clear it up a little. some driving techinques to handel it at higher than normal speed turns and what not.

 

yeah ripping out the brake would be real aggresive but thats what the ebrake is for WOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Find an empty parking lot in the rain. Spin the car. Spin it again. Learn when it's about to spin. Now learn how to countersteer when the rear end starts to come out. Rinse and repeat next time it rains.

 

How fast would you like to corner??? over 50 the body rolls. Make the sucker do a cartwheel, doesn't get more agressive than when your a$$ is above your head.

 

Run everyone off the road at 90 mph. That'll teach 'em for being in your way, you agressive animal.

 

Yes, that cleared it up. Here's several suggestions:

1) STAY OFF THE PUBLIC ROADS!!! Nobody has any business trying to reach the limits ("full potential") of a modern sports car on public roads - aside from leaving no safety margin, when you haven't got a clue what you're doing driving like that (ie YOU), you're a menace to everyone else, and especially to yourself.

2) OK, that was the lecture (but I'm serious). Now productive suggestions - as suggested above, start attending autocrosses, and find out about track days (road courses, not drag racing) and performance driving schools nearby. Pay a professional to teach you properly. It will be the best performance upgrade you ever buy, and will apply to your RX-8 and every car you ever own in the future. Try Skip Barber, Bob Bondurant, etc.

Actually, I find many worse out of state drivers in NJ that are the worst. You people from PA - get the f- out of the left lane.

magixpuma - my guess is you are going to have to go to a track in PA like the Poconos. I don't believe NJ has anything other than schools for drag racing.

Thanks and we know how to drive normally i would just like to have some preformance driving lessons. and yes the out of staters love to go slowly in the left lane its like there from pluto. how much does that cost to use the track and do you use it alone or with other cars and how many other cars, thanks for all of your help . hey 3 out of 12 posts are helpfull thats good enough for me \

How about driving in reverse on the freeway while swerving between all lanes? That's aggressive.

 

 

I agree wuth the parking lot idea. you surely don't want to test the limits of your car while others are on the road. be safe while racing but do it sanctioned or when nobody is around.

Actualy Gordon had the best answer in race driving school. They will teach you everything about the limits of a particular car, it's money well spent, and as someone wrote on one of the forum threads before, it's probably the single best mod you can do. You would be surpised at how a very skilled driver can whip and unskilled driver with a car that has 50 less H.P. The parking lot idea isn't too bad either.

 

Yo,

a few ideas:

- cruise at 20mph in the city listening to Woodoo people/Prodigy at max volume
If you can do so(without increasing your speed) you can control yoself enough to move forward.

- try corners you know well and are broad enough to have some margin of error. Do it when the road is empty (mindnigth) and check for cops before. Worst you can do is wreck yourself or the car.

- after being confident on a given corner at high speed (30mph is enough), try a moderate clutch drop in the middle of the curve (read: roll in 1st at 3000, turn in, clutch in, rev up to 5000, drop clutch, countersteer, smile/wave to the onlookers)

To learn controlling your car during sliding (which is fun) first try on the most slippery surfaces (ice/snow) and slowly progress towards the most adhesive ones (track quality, clear and hot roughened tarmac). On snow the car will slide at very low speeds so the trouble/consequences you have to counter to will be small. Since adhesion is more strong on a typical road (dry tarmac) your speed to do a nice slide is neccessary bigger -> could be a big big trouble for you and for others. Don't forget the impact of a potential crash is proportional of the squared value of your speed.
So do small steps at a time, play at low speeds but keep the high speed fun for the closed tracks.

The 8 is not about high speeds anyway
