Took these in the middle of a snow storm today. Total accumulation as of right now in my area, 21inches +. Enjoy

 

 

FYI, I washed my car while wearing a t-shirt today.

 

OUCH! that is so sad. Good thing it was hailing.

 

do u use a garden hose or a shovel to get all that off? too bad u can't hook up a garden hose to hot water faucet- cuz i'd imagine that would be the easiest and least scratches...

 

never use a shovel to get that off... one wrong move and you have deep scratches. worst of all, depending on how you shove it into that snow, you may not even realize that you hit the car.

i cleared off 12" today, not as bad as a foot, but still. I use an OXO Snow Brush. I first push the snow out, leaving about 1" or so of snow (really approximate.. basically, don't go all the way deep).

once i get all the huge snow off, i get the remaining 1" or so carefully, trying not to touch the paint and leaving maybe 1/4"-1/8" of snow that didn't want to move.

it takes a while longer, but i get a lot fewer scratches/swirls that way (as opposed to vigourously brushing the snow off). plus i use a snow brush with split bristles, which are quite gentler/softer than the regular snow brush.

 

Is anyone else concerned with the fact that the "snowflake" pearl mica isn't the same color as the snow? Shouldn't someone be looking into that?

 

It looks a bit more yellow than the snow... maybe its meant to be snow when pee'd into!!!

 

Its ok. As long as I got the ice off of the headlights, tail lights, and windows, ill be ok. I dont mind having ice on the hood, roof, and rest of the body because it will all melt off later this week. I didnt even bother trying to remove it because I figured it would scratch it up. We'll just let nature take its course so to speak. The paint should be fine im hoping. Anyone else's car ok after experiencing something like this

 

LOL...brochure says its whitewater pearl mica. I forgot where I saw the snowflake pearl name before. Might have been gran turismo. But the car is normally clean, I swear

 

Yeah the brochures and everying say whitewater but when you do a dealer inventory search they all seem to say snowflake. Don't know why that is. Maybe some idiot made an "oopsy" in the computer system.

 

I wouldn't worry about damage to your 8 from snow. Car owners across the world have been dealing with it on a regular basis since the car was invented and so far so good.
