Exclamation My RX8 race car build

So I bought a RX8 from a auction in Cali last week and finally got it home Sunday. I had no idea if the car ran at all or had a good motor. All I knew it was in a front end accident that didn't do too much damage.
so here is where it starts.

Had to get some new keys made and programmed.

The car ended up being able to run. Idle perfect and had cold blowing a/c

Here are some pics of the front end damage. No main damage to the unibody. Just took out the bumper, headlight and fender in the front. There are also some scrapes on the rear left quarter panal.

I will take some more pics fo the car soon. I was just glad to see the motor run right. So now I can take it out and sell it. I will also be selling off everything in the car. I only want the chasis.

Plans for the car is a full car build with a LS1 motor, cage, and all new suspension. The car will mostly be used for drifting but might be used for time attack. I will just have to see how it goes.

Any people who are like "omg you aren't going to have a rotary" can bite me. Seriously a motor is a motor weather it has pistons or rotors. The fact of the matter is rotories can be good but cost alot and don't make much torque, which is needed for drifting. Also I don't really want to have a turbo and heat to deal with in Las Vegas.

Please if anyone has ideas or opinions please post I enjoy reading what people think.

Did you get a really good deal on this? just curious.

also, your idle looks low, it looks about where mine sometimes is and my car gets a vibration

its supposed to idle at 750 rpms when warmed up. idle vibration is caused by bad mounts. some may have tuned to idle higher, but 750 is standard.

WOOOOOOT JOSH. Glad to see you posting this over here.

I'm excited to see how those Coilovers you mentioned to me work out for you on this car.

This is cool. I've got all kinds of body parts to fix up on hit in the front and right side for just the same thing. Now all I need is a smashed car.

I was under 5k. I bought it threw a wholesale dealer auction that a friend of mine uses.

This is just the start of the build the wing and rims will come you will see.
