My First Post! - My Poor Baby
Hello to everyone. This is my first post as you all can see. I've been reading this forum before i purchase my "Are Ex Eight" and this forum has always been a great help. I bought a 04' RX8 GT manual 34k on it and im loving everything about it except it looks so damn good that it grabs too much attention hehehe, anyways i have my 8 for almost a month. Last night when i took my 8 out with my friend, parked it at Downtown Vancouver. After leaving the Club and finding out that my front window passenger side was smashed and my brandnew GPS was stolen. I know it was my fault because i left the mount on and that was the cost of the break in. But ohh well thats life! I'm just sharing my memorable moments with my 8 but i hope none of you 8 owners go through my mistake, well now i've learned my lesson.

Welcome.
I could rant about the crack-heads and scum who break into cars. I could rant about the police who are too short-staffed to catch them. I could rant about the justice system, and its revolving door for petty crime. But I won't....
Get'er fixed, and enjoy the summer in your new car!

I recently got a nuvi 750 and used to leave the mount suction cupped to my window until I saw 2 BMW's with broken windows near my street one morning which had been ransacked. Now I take the suction cup off and store it in the cupholder.
Can never be too careful I guess.

You gotta take the time to wipe the residual ring left by the suction cup too....they look for that too. Its crazy man what folks will do.

Portable Navs are an easy target, and in demand. The theft rate for them has been through the roof over the last year or two.
Always remove the unit & the mounting brackets, and like Chain said, wipe down the windshield.
Sorry yours got jacked. There's no lifeform lower than a thief.

Usually it's the rockchip free side window as it's easier to break than the windshield.

and that is why I love having a palm phone w/ a bluetooth GPS 'puck'. hide the puck, and nothing is left to see. down side is I have to grab the phone to see the screen. c'est la vie. I'm sorry someone messed with your baby, I know if anyone touched my car wrong I'd be put in jail.
