Hey guys
Like 10 mins ago, when I was coming to school, I saw one of my rear window is cracked and my navigation was taken!
WTF should I do? Should I call the police?
This is my first time experiencing **** like this so I'm sooo in panic

Where was the car? Driveway?
Call the police (non emergency) and call your insurance. Even if the cops can't do anything about it, it's good to let them know so they can keep an eye out in the area around you.

YES! don't hesitate. and don't touch the car. take pictures of the window and everything too. if you get a lot of pictures and things your insurance may be able to cover more of the damages.

Call cops, even though they are not going to do **** about it, all you need from them is the *police report*
next thing u'll need to do is check and see if your insurance covers the window with 0 deductible. Some do for free, some do not, check.
After that, lessons learn, dont put anything visible in the car.

Not sure if other states are different, but Cali insurance companies require a police report on almost all claims. Just tell the cops you need to file a report, they will send out an officer that will write one up that you can buy in a couple days. ($8 here)

We've had a rash of breakins here at my work to get at visible (windshield mounted) navigation systems - and right near the building itself. Brazen thieves!! Mine is now out of sight in the console (with suction ring residue cleaned). It actually works well when under cover (audio only of course) and now stays nicely charged thanks to the console socket only being active when the engine is running or acc.

First off, most of them have locks on. if the power disconnected, it will ask u for code to go back in. render the unit worthless, yeah lots of portable ones have codes thinggy too, but most portable owners are too lazy to put their codes.
most in dash nav are too *integrated* these days, meaning if u try to take it without knowing how to take it out, usually u will end up with a *broken* unit thats worth zero dollars.
3rd, its always easier to take portable NAV than in dash, in dash one requires brute force, portable just grab and go. thieves always want easy target.
I installed my own in dash nav, then I made some modification to it, unless the thief is a genius, there is no way the thief will be able to get it out in 1 single piece. Someone said oh that means they might cause me more damage as the thief trying to get the unit out, I mean well, not like any thief will give a crap about your car, they will rip everything apart no matter what. The point is, Im losing money for sure, but dont even think that they will be able to make a penny off from my car.

Never leave anything of value visible in your car.
A thief has no reason not to break your window to steal a penny. it's not his window, and it could be his penny.
File a police report. Talk to your insurance. filing police reports about this sort of thing will make sure that the thefts at least show up in statistical studies.

But that doesn't get you in the car....? The handle to open the door is at the front of the front doors and the suicide doors don't open without the others open. How did they get in the car? Seems like a lot of work to reach in there with a bar and hit the unlock button, but I guess that must be it.

I had my Nuvi stolen out of my parents car last year... and that was even with taking the unit off and stashing it in the glove box before I went into the concert. From what I've read, there are actually people out there that will watch you pull in the parking lot with your navi hanging on your window, snap a pic of your car, and then hunt it down during an event.
... call the cops, get a police report... the insurance should pay for the window and i think it was my parents house insurance that paid for the stolen items after showing proof of ownership.
