Unless it's a case of murder or something very serious, most police departments won't care enough about a vandalism case like this to bother with taking prints, even if the perpetrator was playing with ink moments before breaking into the car and left incredibly visible prints all over the windows. It's just not "cost-effective" to them, sad to say.
