and i had to go to the CPT meet on a donut. yeah, that was cool. :eyetwitch the caravan there was lots of fun. hope i see you guys next year though. we had 9 rx8s!

my sister called the cops and woke me up when she noticed. they poured engine oil all over my car and slashed a tire. this is the second time my car has been vandalized. march 14th, i came out and my car was covered in leaves and bamboo sticks taken from a neighbors yard. so this is an escalation. im not exactly keen to find out what they do next. im thinking of buying those wireless nightvision cameras microcenter has, a pair for $100 and a gun. maybe next time the police come, there'll be someone sitting on the curb. also, going to get that shock sensor from mazda for $55.

so i dont know what to do. my tires have decent tread left, ~%50. im not trying to replace all of them right now. and i just purchased a big mod for my car, so im not exactly flush with cash right now. my deductible is $100, toyo t1rs in 245/40/18 are $180. plus mounting and balancing. but insurance will only cover one. and at that, im pretty sure they only pro-rate the tire. like they did my exhaust. so im out over that, plus at least one other tire. im leery at having just 2 tires full tread though. i like all the tires to be replaced at the same time. but unless i stumble upon a few hundred bucks its not happening. these tires were supposed to last me until this december and in the spring i'd buy new rims+tires.

im sick and tired of this shit. and i dont even know who it is. jealous neighbor? an ex-gfs current bf who is just mad i still talk to her occasionally? an ex-gfs current gf that i hooked up with a few times? but i thought she didnt know..

im serious about buying a gun. next time what will it be? all 4 tires? a headlight? im so pissed my car is too low (stock) to go into my driveway.

Wow that really sucks man sorry to hear about it. The nerve of some people...

expo1 04-26-2009 07:30 PM

Shooting someone for messing with your car will not work out too well for you. If you can't get your 8 off the street you might want to look into some video camera with night vision. One that records to a PC, if no other car on your block was hit its someone that has it out for you.

ferg 04-26-2009 07:30 PM

did it eat the paint off or just the clear coat?

Zerotide 04-26-2009 07:33 PM

I sometimes have to keep my 8 outside because we have a 3 car garage and 4 family vehicles.

My parents installed motion detecting flood lights under the eave of our garage so I always park right under them. My parents bedroom looks out over the driveway to so I think that will probably deter and vandals... maybe motion sensing lights would be a cheaper option for you?

im not planning on shooting anyone. im planning on having someone sit on the curb waiting for the cops to come. :banghead:

and it must have happened only a few hours before it was discovered because the oil was still slowly dripping. it didnt noticeably eat into anything. luckily it was washed asap.

and this has been 2 specific incidences. no other cars hit. just mine. someone has it out for me.

motion floodlights lighting up the street might not be a bad idea. but i was thinking of a nightvision security cam. microcenter sells a pack of 2 for $100. and they are wireless. my bedroom looks out on the street.

DarkBrew 04-26-2009 07:51 PM

I don't know what to say. Some little fuckers have no idea what it means to work for something and take pride in it. Sorry that happened to your car.

Something like THIS might also help.

I can only imagine your anger.

Those jugs on the roof, were they left by the vandals? If so there will be finger prints on them. Finger prints that can be matched easily

RotaryP7 04-26-2009 07:57 PM

Ah, I know how it feels.. Haters.

oil coats everything. :/ not easy to lift prints from from running oil.

im just pissed as crap. and yeah, floodlights are going to go up next weekend.

kersh4w 04-26-2009 08:41 PM

The first thing is to forget being concerned about having 4 tires with exactly the same tread. Don't worry about it. Just get your ride back to driveable at this point.

Sorry to see this, man... that's a shitty thing to do, and I hope karma goes and bites whoever did this in the ass. Hard.

Ross_Dawg 04-26-2009 10:04 PM

that sucks bro, cameras are a must

Razz1 04-26-2009 10:05 PM

Your car looks stock.

It should be able to go into the driveway. If no get a two by four. Drive over that and you can get in.

My car is lower than a bic lighter and I can get in the driveway without the 2x4.

Someone is mad at you. Here is a clue......... who do you know that changes oil?

Why would an ex girl friends boy friend do that? That is just stupid.

Have you ever tried to puncture a tire?

It is not very easy.

exsequor 04-26-2009 10:13 PM

That and puncturing a tire is quite loud. It makes a loud pshhhhhhhhh sound lol.

Brettus 04-26-2009 10:20 PM

sorry to hear it kersh . Definately figure out how to get your car off the road for a start .

KraZy K 02 04-26-2009 10:29 PM

Myriad 04-26-2009 10:46 PM

Sorry to see this, i hope the little f**ks that did this get what they deserve.

kersh4w 04-27-2009 12:10 AM

my car will not fit in the driveway. do you see the angle of that 7 series? it scrapes. i've tried it before.

Rootski 04-27-2009 12:17 AM

I've killed for less!

delhi 04-27-2009 12:32 AM

awww shucks man. Maybe they thought rx-8 being a rotary needed lots of oil and 'helped' you out? j/k....
That neighbourhood looks like a rough area. I'd never park my car there let alone overnight. Sorry dude. Take care.

shazy 04-27-2009 12:37 AM

Maybe it's the 350Z owners?

Sorry about this stuff :(

Whatever, you'll get those bastards sooner or later.

kersh4w 04-27-2009 12:46 AM

the neighborhood is not bad. and as i said before, i really think it's someone who doesnt like me. since its not the first time and no other cars were vandalized. so i could live anywhere and it would happen.

it seems i must have have fucked the wrong chick.

ZumnRx8 04-27-2009 04:27 AM

They must be somewhat afraid of you for not denting your car or smashing windows, so im thinking they know who you are and u possibly know them. Dont want a brokend headlight $1k ouch! Careful who you hang with. SUX dude.

WAR CRUNK 04-27-2009 05:03 AM

stay up marine sorry that happend

Transam kid 01 04-27-2009 05:46 AM

wow dude, it looks like someone really went out of their way for that one. I would think of who you are on bad terms with and keep an eye out.

Shaftski 04-27-2009 06:04 AM

FInd a friend that has a bull mastiff or a rottweiler. Borrow the dog at night. Tie it to the front of the house, leave enough lead so it can reach the area where your car is parked.

I was getting vandalized for a while by some dimwit. Borrowed my buddy's pitbull for a week, sweetheart of a dog, but never screw with him. Pit woke me up the first night around 3 am by barking, heard tires squealing. Never heard anything again after that. Gave the dog back after a week, the problem never returned. I bought that dog the full spa treatment for that, LOL. Cop who patrols the area thought it was a great idea too, just make sure the lead does not extend past your property line and you are fine.

Putting the food/water dishes near the car helps. The dog will tend to hang around that spot.

That's a good idea until the vandal decides to do something to the dog.

It may be a one time thing, but if it isn't, you're better off camping outside rather than possibly risking the health/well being of a dog.

Even the handles on the jugs? Those will have the greatest chance of clean prints.

amacrx8 04-27-2009 09:21 AM

Any paint damage?

Red Rex 04-27-2009 09:42 AM

Unspoken rule of the univers: You NEVER mess with another person's car. If you have shit with them, you take it up with them. None of this "hide in the bushes till he falls alseep then leave oil on his car and run hehehehe".

God I would blow an oil ring if this happened to me. Definitely invest in some security. Dunno about a gun and definitely not a dog. If you want to catch whoever did it buy the camera and no floodlights. They will be more likely to scram and not do anything to your car if you have the lights. And you need proof of them in action. Although I would warn you that this is a public forum and anyone can read this :uhh:

NACer4lyf 04-27-2009 10:21 AM

bro i feel for ya...that shows major sign of a pus*y ya know (like my sensorship) but yeah his/her time will come

Seriously, that kind of crap drives me crazy. I had vandals on my old block when i first got my car. Needless to say i caught up with them when i staked out my drive way...

It really sucks for it to happen man - i hope those asshats that did that crap get theirs 10 fold. :ar:

The Drunk IT Guy 04-27-2009 10:56 AM

Fucktards could've done a lot more damage. Imagine 60 seconds with some industrial sand paper, sugar in the gas tank, drive-by brick through the back window...

Have you had someone drive it into the drive way?

I bey it's just the rubber falp on the bottom and its no big deal.

Check it out, you may be lucky.

Shaftski 04-27-2009 11:19 AM

Personally, in this situation, I would not worry about the dog. It takes an especially sick type of individual to willingly hurt an animal. Going from dumping oil/slashing tires to justifying animal abuse is a pretty big quantum leap in reasoning. Vandalizing cars many consider to be a victimless crime, since everybody has insurance.

Unless you plan to be within eyeshot of your car 24/7, I honestly don't know how you are going to stop this without some form of active deterrent. The second they know you aren't looking, they'll hit again.

nycgps 04-27-2009 11:57 AM

how could I missed this !?

sorry to see that man, damn it this sucks.

When I first saw the pics I was like "Wtf did they pour on your car?"

Oh its used engine oil ...

It looks like someone on your block hates you because "your car looks better than his/her car". He/she could be watching when you took those photos. Im 99% sure its someone lives around there.

Get some Security camera, make sure no one sees you installing it.

I thought you already got the shock sensor. hmm, its pretty easy to install. get it.

What did the cops say? (I know they cant do shit about it, jusut wondering)

Socket7 04-27-2009 12:05 PM

Don't make them sit on the curb.

Make them bite it. Then ask if they've watched American History X while you wait for the cops to show.

kersh4w 04-27-2009 04:46 PM

^ hahah, the thought has crossed my mind.

@ razz, yes, someone else drove the car. and yes, it was indeed the chassis scraping.

@ everyone

MY CAR WAS VANDALIZED AGAIN!! WOOOOOOO

no slashed tires, but more oil. maybe its someone with something to say on rotaries. it took awhile to clean up, and then i had to clean it up again after i drove it, cause more oil poured out of the crevices.

ferg 04-27-2009 05:03 PM

they should of kicked in every part of the car to make dents all over lol j/k im glad it was not that bad

CyberPitz 04-27-2009 05:17 PM

Wait, Vandalized AGAIN? Geez man, get those cameras.

ferg 04-27-2009 05:19 PM

wait what? again?????????????????? you must of pissed someone off, i would sleep in your car tonight

RyanX-8 04-27-2009 05:23 PM

Shit. Get a shock sensor alarm. Keep the sensor so low that when the wind blows it goes off. Next time they come back you run out with a 12ga... or if it were me... and RPG. LOL

ferg 04-27-2009 05:25 PM

if i was you, i would leave the keys in your car so they can steal it so you can get kbb value, and its clear that all the oil there getting is from a oil shop,

Time to camp outside. You can borrow my Sig Saueur....or the Bow if you want

But seriously, leave a sign on your car "You're doing it wrong. The oil goes in the car, not on it"

...on second thought, don't, cuz these people may put oil in your interior
