So, A few weeks ago I was cruising down the main stretch of road in my town, I see a red sporty looking mitsubishi eclipse (2005 model) in the right lane, in front of the stop light, so being the show-off bastard I am, I turn into the left lane so that they can get a nice clear view of my new car. Halfway to getting up to the car, I notice the plates, vanity style, and know exactly who it is, my ex girlfriend.( I hate her stupid vanity plates, her f*#king name is too long for it, so she removed some letters and it doesn't even make sense) Regardless, now I am faced with a dilemma; Pull up and have to see her, but get to show her how much cooler my car is, or not pull up and see her, but I don't get to gloat. I decide to go with the former. So I pull up, she looks over and her jaw drops. She rolls down her window, so I oblige. After a fake crappy "how's it been" talk, she comments on how nice my new car looks, I say thank you, and leave it at that, she then goes on to say "I'll bet mine is faster." Before I could retort, the light turns green and she makes a right turn.

So, to end a long story that I am almost positive no one will read or care about, I never wanted to race someone so badly in all my life. I'm positive I could have wiped that grin off of her face...

 

If racing stories were allowed here, which they're not, I'd be able to tell you that I know for a fact that the Eclipse is slower. But I can't do that.

Well, in this case--- I endorse racing her a$$-- I cant stand that Eclipse. Was hers a 4 cylinder or 6? You would have probably taken her anyway--assuming your the better driver.

 

Hers is the 6 cyl, however, it is an automatic.

 

I still live and work in the same town that I did when I went to HS. I came back shortly after college because I had a job offer here and I soon bought my 8. I see people all the time that are shocked when they see me driving it. It's great!

Speaking of being tempted to race, I was dropping my son off to pick up his car from the shop, and I pulled out onto a four-lane divided hwy w/ stop lights on it, and this kid in a Civic w/ a fart can and oversized wheels (maybe 20"?) pulls along side me and starts revving his engine... I'm thinking, "WTF, dude - it's rush hour, there's a ton of traffic, and there's less than 1/8 mi between lights..." At the stop light, he stops next to me (about two empty car lengths in front of him) and continues to rev. I ignored it.

But, it was nice to see him taking an interest in my car! <G>

 

I vote for racing her for HER ***! LOL That would give new meaning to the show "Pinks"! :D

I hate the guys in these modded cars zooming through rushour traffic.

Lane change here, no signal, going at least 85+ when all the others are going 65. I just don't understand it.

 

It would also give reason to the saying "Your *** is mine now!"

You can't take her in a straight line, the rx8 is slower then the hybird civic and Toyato Echo's.

You shouldn't race her anyway, especially if she's old. Taking advantage of the gertiatric, she could faint and crash into some kids.
