Mazda Dealer gave me lifetime Brake Pad Warranty
I am 17, my rx8 is obvisously my first car. We purchased it in June and it had rarely gone out except for me to learn stick on it. I got the car certified pre-owned. I got my license in September. In August, during times of driving a light would appear to tell you seatbelt wear. After long dispute between myself and the Dealer, one techincan had decided to take a look and realized that my 2 wire Harnesses for the front 2 seats were blown. They replaced it and fully covered by my extended warranty. Orignally they told me it was nothing to worry it meant passenger in the car.
So when I began driving my brakes would screech beyond belief. I complained to my dad he's like well should be normal and what not. I searched on here and it was known that RX8 brakes squek from escaping gases. Finally my dad and myself jacked up my car. Finding my rotor was beveled from improper wear. But the brakes were fine. Not worn as we could tell. But I knew the sound my car was making was not right. We called Mazda Dealer and took it down. From what they told us the previous owner had bought cheap pads or what not and they did not work properly. Upon start up while they were cool no sounds. Once they got hot they expanded obivously and the repair technician said that only about 1/2 of the pad would engage on the rotor causing the improper wear. The dealership was mad about the over site of this on the safety issue of my vehicle possibly not being able to stop and that it was certified pre-owned. They said Brake pads are free for the lifetime of the car.

Is it in writing?
And of course you know it's probably just the pads, not the install....................so they are betting if they give you free pads, then you will have them do the brakes. That's where they will make the money anyway. It is still nice of them, but don't feel like they went overboard for you. Actually if they were that sorry for the bad condition when they sold it to you, I would've gone for more and see how much the really did care without trying to just get as much as I could out of them.

Great, but you'll probably still end up paying more for brake jobs than if you took your car elsewhere. On most cars pads are cheap, labor is not. P.S. just about every cheeseball brake place in existence has the same deal.

On the other hand, its nice to see a dealer extend *something* to their customers. My dealership simply washes the car after the car is serviced. Nothing big but still nice and something that not every dealership does.
Cheers

i mean i know labor isnt included but still it was atleast somewhat generous of them to do something like this considering they seem like a real cant tell the difference between their butt and head sometimes

I get that a lot. I have stalled the car and most likely have done some serious strain by learning. But I did know the ideas of stick and wasnt trying to race the engine while learning.

English? Yes.
Grammar and proper sentence structure? Not so much.
jk
Grats on the car though. Looking at your sig, did they really wrap it with that banner and suprise you?
My parents did that to me once when they gave me my TA, they kept bugging me all day to take out the trash, then finally I was like "wowowow fine!" and I walk out in the garrage and there it is. Sitting there all day

Lifetime pads are a scam. They will still charge you labor and whatever else. You're still better off swapping them yourself. They are only like 60 bucks and axle.
