I bought a 1974 RX-4 2dr coupe AT in 1976. It was Sunrise Red with the black interior. That thing was a chick magnent. I bridge ported it had hardened stationary gears, shaved .030 off the rotor sides ,, put on Racing Beats Highrise with an 850 Holley double pumper(sq. bore) and 2 Accell super coils , 2 MSD ignitions,Headers ,dual exhaust 4 C-Ram Pak (ceramic filled)36 inch mufflers and 2 12" cherry bombs on the very back.. Ha ha ,,noise suppression,
Flame throwing mother F__ker. Had sway bars and lowered with TA BR60-14's
Think I was getting about 8-10 miles per gallon.
135 down the freeway with five people in the car and turning a little under 7000 rpm it would turn 10,000 rpm no problem.
After that I bought another '74 RX-4 4spd coupe Black on Black
1976 Cosmo AT Blue on Blue
1976 RX-4 2door AT coupe White on Blue
1974 REPU Peripherial Port13B Weber 48IDA on it. Headers , Accells
These are some pics of the RX-4 and Cosmo I found on the web.

Heh, Thanks! My wife or stepdaughter clogged it up with about a million rolls of TP.
(women will do that) So after their unsuccessful attempts at unclogging the bowel I told them if they would videotape me plunging and clearing the bowel, proving my mastery of plunger technique, I would have the video to prove this to the world....That for some things...like plunging...MEN were the stronger sex.

Also...Thanks to the posters for the Mazda video and sales brochure...WOW...let's see hou many of those old commercials we can find..I love them!!

Easy_E1 Man you sure had some hauling *** machines. I bet plenty of people got spanked real hard by that rx4! The renesis is so much more refined than those wankels. Those old wankel's would pull so hard (it felt at the time) you thought your fillings would come out.
Loved 4000 to redline!

Also a couple more 70's Mazda memories....Who remembers the woodgrain steering wheel (plastic) and shifter ****. Who remembers the white interiors on the rx2's ?
How 'bout being broke and in college and money either for beer or gas so you chose beer and drove your Rx3 around with the fuel pump clicking...(it was in the trunk).
Also, does anyone have any good links to pictures of these great old cars both interior and exterior?
This is a foriegn link but the pics are good.

Thanks for the pics....E1....I searched the web today for an rx3 and there are very few still in original condition. The RX4 is even harder to find. Maybe the memory is better than the reality....but I don't think so.

Take Care
