Standard warranties are damn near worthless today. I wouldn't pay for another one. This is why I just say buy a car and fix it yourself. One way or another you'll pay for it. I don't trust dealerships at all. I don't even trust Mazda themselves on their own word. That sucks dude.

I completely disagree! I purchased a 2011 Mercedes S550 with an MAP extended warranty. Had some issues develop, took the car to the nearest Mercedes dealer, and MAP covered the cost with no hassles. I will be extending my warranty once this one expires.

And as soon as S550s have rotaries in them, and the clock strikes 2008 again, that information will be relevant.

Well, seeing it's a Mercedes, it doesn't even need a rotary in it to be unreliable. Especially with their new 2.0T that's making 400+ BHP, they are pretty much just saying, "Yeah, it just needs to last until the warranty expires."

I am not even joking when I say that when I had my RX-8 towed due to an ignition issue(engine hanger rubbing through the BHR ignition coils - you know that as well), I chatted with the tow truck driver what he sees the most. He says it's usually BMW and Mercedes that need to be towed.

So yeah, if you have a Mercedes it might actually be worth something.
