Or, a quart of motor oil + a quart of premix oil + a funnel + a rag...

Cars Getting A New Engine. I've Been Reading This Thread & Damn I Miss It More And More After Every (Next Page Click)

1. The Leg Space In The Passenger Side, Every other car I've been in the Glove Box Is In The Way, Not In The 8. For Me Being 6'1 That's Amazing That I Fit.
2. ^ I Fit Fine In Back :D
3. Not Only How Fast It Looks, But How Fast it is, sometimes it surprises you.
4. The Looks everyone gives you at a red light, & how quickly they look away when you rev the engine to its highest peak even, Stock it sound angry but in a subtle way.
5. Driving on the Parkway, Like you cruising and you look down your doing 80Mph

6. One of my favorites, ignoring the speed limit signs on tight turns. Some Say 25 your doing 50 and yet you hear no tire squeal, that is just so cool.

7. The way you car looks no matter which way you look at it.
8. the center console, has so much space you always have a place to put everything. 4 cup holders and 2 separte spaces for anything else.

I can go on and on but after being in so many different cars i love my RX8, for everything it is..

I recently drove an '01 BMW 330i and would say that the Mazda RX-8 is very similar in terms of cabin size and passenger comfort to the luxury sedan, which I would say is quite a compliment for Mazda. Up front the RX-8 actually has more leg room because the BMW's center console weirdly forks at the front where it meets the dash which causes the drivers right leg (and passenger's left leg) to cramp up against it. In the back there is more space in the BMW mainly because there is room for a third person in the center and the higher roof line, but in terms of comfort the RX-8's back seats are equally comfortable.

1) This is the PERFECT road trip car. A couple months ago I took it to Vegas. Four people plus enough luggage for 3 days in Vegas fit perfectly. Luckily none of us was very tall so there were no leg room issues. I repeatedly asked the people in back if they were getting uncomfortable and noone ever complained once. One even said it was more comfortable than when he took a road trip in the back of a camry or some generic large sedan like that. Also everyone appreciated getting there a lot faster in my car

2) Bluetooth: I had a buddy riding in the car with me the other day. We had to call another friend for directions and he started to pull his phone out. "Dont worry I got it" I said as I hit the bluetooth button and proceeded to make the call. The "HOLY **** THIS IS AWESOME" look on his face was priceless! Sure lots of new cars have this feature but I'm glad to have it. Everytime I see some idiot driving and talking on their cell phone it makes me appreciate Mazda included built in bluetooh.

3) The Bose stereo: yeah its not the hardest hitting system out there and cant compare to most aftermarket stuff. But sometimes when I put the right CD in, something that has some piano or orchestra-type stuff mixed in, it just sounds friggin amazing when you get that full surround-sound effect going!

Why wouldn't you, the Japaneses have had their measure for years, no longer is ANY German marque special, unless you want to spend a fortune...for nothing.

And another fortune to fix anything that happens to die.

Don't get me wrong they are good cars but WAY over-rated by Motoring Journalists.

Lets not get carried away here. In general German cars still have better build quality, and performance than Japanese counter-parts. You do end up paying a higher price for a German car, but the materials that go into it are of better quality. You get what you paid for. I'm not denying that Japanese cars are a damn good value for money, but lets not deny the specialness of a top-end BMW or Mercedes-Benz.

Who is getting carried away????
Now lets see, the Japs have out done every German Marque of car for Quality and Reliability surveys, in Fact recent JD Power Survey Only In Germany had Mazda #1, their home grown product did not come close??, this has been consistent World Wide, except the good old USA, I wonder why??, thats right a car is "faulty" if brakes squeals, STUPID. At least other nations know the difference.

QUALITY, An old flame who is a BMW fan has owned so many I have lost count, NOT one owned more than 3 years has not had major flaws and or mechanical problems or issues BMW should know better about, they are NO better.

Sure she is not the best driver, but, she keeps going back (more money than sense).
My father had 3 brand new MB that had mechanical issues from day 1...gave up and went Jap. Yes, you certainly do not get what you pay for..

+1 I had VW/Audis for ~ 20 years, no more! They add more and more gadgets, weight, and size every year in a vain attempt to justify their price. In doing so, the number of hugely expensive parts increases dramatically. Think we have oil controversy? Audi is the only manufacturer I know of to have a link to a list of approved oils on their web home page! Why? 500,000 sludge engines, including a co-worker's whose 2.0T blew at 40,000 miles. Of Audi, MB, and BMW, beemers are probably the best, but that is not saying much. Another acquaintance had the outside mirrors on his X5 catch fire! An A8 owner joked with me once that he was an expert in their product line, because he'd driven every demo car the dealer had as a loaner while the A8 was being worked on. The stories are endless.

The instant response to throttle
The way it inspires the you to push the turn, knowing it will stick

But the best little think I have found is for a 6'3" guy I can adjust my seat up and down to fit in the car, and the seat is comfortable, and the knees dont have the crazy bend... however good luck getting someone to sit in the rear seat.

I'm not crazy tall (6'0" ish) but I find I can drive for upwards of 3 hours in comfort. Other vehicles, it's a scant 30min and I'm already thinking "Are we there yet?"

Not sure if this has been mentioned but on my way back from work. It was snowing like crazy. And i noticed if traction control kicks in it wont let you rev past 3000 rpm. I found that pretty sick lol.

All my recent cars are Japanese (except for one, MB coupe that my wife wanted, not me), and that car is gone and i traded that with the Mazda RX8. I'm so glad i did. I'm happy with Japanese made cars than other makes.
