not too bad but these little things should not happen. Mazda needs better quality control.

I still love my 8.
I just got back from the Mazda dealer.

- Trunk release did work - I had the safety on
- Fog light connection was disconnected
- Two clips were missing for the front under carriage
- Due to the car sitting on the lot, some rust got between the brakes & rotors.
Also fixed.

Not bad at all - I should be good to go.

I love the fact that if you should happen to get locked in the trunk,
there is a small trunk release button on the back panel inside the trunk so you could just let yourself out.
Must be how my trunk monkey keeps getting out on his own.

So go ahead and climb in there and give it a whirl!

If you're small enough to get into that trunk, you should still be riding a tricycle!

My girls saw the inner trunk release when I got my car and just had to try it.

Ya know I noticed that it's highlighted in blue at around 6k then will flash again right at 9K rpm... It's gotta be height dependant but it's pretty cool.

I drove every competitor, 330ci, 350, audiTT, The GrandDad 350z the G35, plus a bunch of others... I kept coming back to the RX-8...

- I just cannot get enough of the sound, I mean in Downtown Seattle the car makes some of the best noises just cruising slow, echoing off the buildings. Then of course, pulling it into the garage has become one of my favorite activities... Love the noise, wife siad it sounds like a freaking UFO when Rolling up to the house...

- I am big into sportbikes and this is the first car to capture and hold my attention for more than just an hour or so.

- Love the slide to reveal the center storage compartment...

- Awesome headlights, cool driving lights. On and on... AND on...

Handling... OMG!

What a thread... it's like a brotherhood of 8 owners!

Anyway, here's my story...

I was driving into work today and there were cones set-up in order to paint traffic lines on a nearly private road... cones were spaced pretty close together... but I figured what the hell... took the weaves going 50 or so... damn this thing is a CHAMP! No pressure to let off the gas... only the desire for miles more of cones. Had my baby about a month and a half and I know I will be keeping her til I die!

The BIG little thing

Hoe about how amazingly practical this car is? I'm not sure if this is a little thing or not, but I love the way it pampers me and the kids - and all their stuff.

Up until last week, my baby was an 88 GTU, highly modded but street legal and clean. However, with two young kids, the only car that could take its place is the RX-8. It broke my heart to trade my GTU in but it's certainly on the mend every time I drive my 8! I get a kick out of having my three year old climb into the back and buckle in for a ride in the "new car". The ride is more refined and the interior noise is so low. I plan to drop the car with some new springs but I'm in no hurry. Just hope my GTU goes to someone who appreciates her!

I think I made it quite clear what's up my bung-hole. Putting people down with your "I'm faster than you so you suck" attitude is rude and boorish. I fail to see what in that analysis is so subtle you can't see it. Consider yourself bitten.

Just want to share a story with you rx8 owners, one day I parked my car infront of the shop. Being quite hot sunny day, I opted to wind down the whole window so that my interior wont get too hot when Im back from the shop. Then I locked the door by a remote control. Then after a few minutes, the car alarm started sounding. I thot it came from the surrounding cars, unfortunately it came from mine. I was puzzled by this because the alarm was original factory fitted and I dont think because of vibration of passing cars cos this is the first time I hear the alarm. I suspect may be I locked the door with the windows down that probably it, Im not sure. Have you guys encounter this?

I know it's been mentioned a hundred times (and by me, for that matter), but I just took the car out of winter storage. After driving my other cars all winter, I just have a renewed appreciation for the shifter in this car. Such short throws, such positive engagement. I'm looking forward to the RP short shifter that I'll be buying shortly. Hoping it will put the shifter on the same level as the IS300 I test drove over the winter with a B&M short throw. that thing was the epitome of "Bolt action" precision.

But the RX-8s is the best stock shifter I've ever felt. I prefer it to the S2000 shifter even.

I read this listing last week, and it had me thinking of all little things I appreciate, including:

- Watching all the cars in front of me brake when entering a sharp curve, and not touch my brakes at all.
- I can't find my sunglasses, but if you put both visors down and leave your sunglass case open, it provides full coverage across the windshield for protection. Sweet.
- the VIP treatment received from security gate guards at work, event parking personnel and da women. I went to a show at the electric factory recently, and was given VIP parking just because of my car. I gave the guy a few bucks, and no one parked within 5 yards of my car.

I just noticed this: the driver site in the exact middle between the front and rear wheels...

So many of the previous posts stand true for me also. I bought my 05 MT Black 15 days ago. One little thing I found yesterday - The ash tray light is actually a regular bulb and only appears red in the ash tray because of a filter.

Today at my 5 year old's soccer practice he went to get his water and did not lock the doors. I pushed the door lock button on the remote from about 150 yards away and was greeted to the beautiful sound of the horn. Amazing range.

I love my car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything mentioned is indeed a huge plus. I've only had my 2005 Shinka 6-spd a few weeks and I'm impressed every day with the myriad attention to detail items. Self adjusting headlights; what a concept!

Oh yeah, the ladies love the Black Cherry Mica paint.

I can unlock/lock my car across my parking lot from the 8th floor.

Great for when I get upstairs and think "Did I lock the car?" Stick my hand out on the back patio, 'click click', and sure enough I hear her call to me from across the lot.

I love it when my baby speaks to me.

Ya so, long distance locking +1
