when i drive other cars, i just can't wait until i get to my destination. with the rx-8, i actually enjoy the trip and dun mind if the trip lasted longer. can't get enough of it!
oh yeh, agree that when u step out of the car, theres a feeling that the car wants u back.
this is the only car that i actually clean personally. the other cars go thru the car wash once every 1-2 months. feel guity when ever i have to drive another car :p
all in all, i think i have feelings for the 8. 'love is in the air'

- You can just feel the stares everywhere you go.
- I have a friend with a Viper and he is extremely impressed with the handling/speed/responsiveness and quality of the RX8. All for a third of the price he paid!
- It is the car every boy dreamed about (myself included)
- I have a company car and can't resist driving the 8 most of the time even with gas so pricey.
- smokin' others at the stop light and passing in third on the freeway
-driving my daughter to school
- how your left hand resting at the 12:00 position on the steering wheel touches the tachometer hood, with the right hand on the shifter. Talk about feeling connected to the car.

coming from the subaru- the interior is such higher class
the backlighting with the controls on the door were already mentioned- but that's been from old rx7's My fathers 86 was like that
long thread- what about the fact that the sun visors have those holes so you can see through them....
I say that all the time to people when they ask how I like the car, especially since I loved the wrx so much, it's the little things that makes this car better

Think I've got a feature no one else has mentioned. Did you know that the air conditioning system has an air filter in it to keep out dust, dirt, pollen, etc? It can be reached by releasing the glove compartment all the way down. You'll see 2 filters behind the glove compartment, at the upper right; they slide out towards the rear of the car for replacement. Also, you can change out the normal filters with higher-density "aldehyde" filters. They are available as an accessory from the dealer to filter out more pollen, etc. Don't think they mention this filter in the Owner's manual. Anyone eles notice this?

Here's one that nobody has mentioned, the community the 8 has created. It never fails that when I'm driving my 8 and another 8 sees me they will always wave or flash high beams, that is another awesome feature I also tried looking on other forums for a 20+ page thread of stuff that everyone liked about their car and have yet to find one, there is so much to like and so little to not like about this wonderous automobile, great thread and awesome car. =)

I usually really really hate driving at night with an interior light on. But a couple of days ago I had both my boys in the back and they were both playing gameboy when it started to get dark. I had no problems driving at night with the back light on. It seems the seat backs are so close to the roof that there's really no bleed through. I don't know if it makes a difference but I have the auto dim mirror.

By the trunk button and hood switch there's a small compartment for keeping drugs in, J/K, but I thought it was a nice place to put stuff in.
The console display is easy and is high so you don't really have to take your eyes off the road to look at i t, and the 6-Cd changer is good because there is no clip and it's not in the trunk like most cars. The clip is a big deal to me because they break easiy in my dad's mercedes.

I dunno if it's been mentioned but I was fooling around and noticed that you can change the color of the dash. Probly been mentioned but I'm not about to go through 375 posts.

This may have been said before, but I just recently noticed this. The way the dash and the hood line up. The swept "arms" of the hood rotor part line up with the seams between the middle dash section and the edge dash sections.

Here's a couple of little things we should be glad the 8 doesn't do. I got these after driving a rental Taurus for awhile. First, when you turn the car off the radio keeps going. On the Taurus, the radio shut off, then you had to turn key to the Aux position to turn the radio back on. So if you were just coming up on The Scream from "Won't get Fooled Again" and you were in your parking spot, you had to keep the engine running so as not to miss anything.
The second thing I learned from the Taurus is the annoying and VERY LOUD beeping when you don't fasten your seatbelt. Hey, if I wanted to be nagged I'd bring my wife along! yes, I know I should wear my seatbelt and virtually always do, but sometimes I'm croozin' the neighborhood about 20 mph and every 30 seconds get this ear-piercing ding ding "reminding me" that I'm being bad. Thank goodness the Mazda engineers chose to treat us like adults!

- People complimenting your RX-8. Doesn't matter where .
- The dash, especially at night.
- The near-lack-of-blind spot. Unsuspecting soccer moms can be seen through the rear glass.
Bottom line: the RX-8 is one of the most ergonomic, versatile car I've ever owned .

Man, you guys hit all the good ones. The trunk space is amazing. The first time I went to get groceries (family of four - two teenagers - that should tell you something), I was worried about having enough room. I had so much room to spare! The glowing blue lights on the instrument panel - that's hot. The timing of the lights dimming after you close the doors - perfect. The pedals - YES, I love 'em! I could go on and on. Best of all - the people who tell you how much they like your car. While cruising Sunset Blvd. in LA yesterday, two guys walking down the sidewalk yelled out "Hey, I love your car!". Yeah. Me, too.

If it had been advertised at 234 hp I still would have bought it! I loved the car, after four months and 6,000 miles I still love the car. Loved the way the intrument lights turned red on blue the first night I had to dim the bright white! Love the way I'm already exceeding a 35 mph speed limit when I shift into third, etc....

You drive too slow then cause I love the way I am hitting the 65 mph speed limit when I shift into third.:D And did you notice that in third gear, you are doing about 10 mph for each 1000 rpm.
And then there was the guy at the post office that wanted to trade me his new Lincoln because he thought my 8 was the new Mercedes model because of the "M" on front.

Insanely Yellow
Everything. Just everything ...
Zoom zoom!
Actually, my one favorite thing is that "growl turning into a wail" sound you get under full throttle in first gear as the revs fly upwards and the car takes off like a rocket.
That and the "holy ****!" you get from your passengers when you do that!

Best. Thread. Ever.
I don't even have an 8 yet, but I will! One thing I really love, and I haven't seen anyone mention this specifically yet (although the gauges in general have been mentioned several times) is the fact that the Tachometer is the biggest gauge, and it is front and center (similar to the 3rd gen 7's).
Man, this thread (I just read the entire thing) really makes me want to get my 8 NOW!

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but I didn't have time to read all the posts...but the ones I did read are great and couldn't agree more!
I thinkg the "cool" factor is definitely there, but even after a year behind the wheel, I think the "little thing" that is the best is....
The smile it produces EVERY time you get in the car.
Gotta love it!

Here is my list:
- I love how the steering wheel controls light up red at night. never seen another car with that before.
- The little 'cell phone' compartment above the driver's left leg (which i discovered last night, after my car reached 2k miles)
- how the head rests mold to the back of my head
- how many bystanders compliment me on it
- how the passenger can't see the speedometer!
