LOL I just got sexually harrassed in the parking lot of a QT by 2 sexy Southern girls because they liked my yellow RX-8. They were shocked when I flirted back and told them I was from Biloxi, MS, so their Southern charm doesn't work on me. Bugs arent't he only thing this color car attracts

bugs...check.
lots of admirers...check.
tickets...check.
i think there is a warning system with the state troopers that indicates when my car is leaving the garage. I purchased my ly in 10/03, only have 16k on it and 6 tickets! three of which are speeding and the others are no front plate and window tint violations. obviously i don't drive her often but when i do.........look out. beeeep.....shift, beeeep.....shift!!
gotta love a car and a color that they only matched up for one year.

IMHO, the only colors the -8 truly looks great in are Lightning Yellow, Velocity Red and Winning Blue. beyond that, the Black looks pretty good, although it hides the contours of the bodywork, and Titanium, Silver and White are colors for sedans ...

Poor Rotten. The airborne dreck from the Athabaska tar sands must be getting to him. Haven't seen a Stormy Blue in the Toronto area yet. On the Mazda.ca website it seems RX-8 worthy. All the others I liked a lot, a little or could tolerate but for the White, until I saw Gerry's (daughter's) at a meet last year...imho, it does work.

Here's another LY madness item - I was taking off from O'Hare airport the other day on an American airlines flight. I had parked my car in remote lot G (you O'Hare folk know this) - a cheap remote lot - and it was among thousands of other cars.
As we were climbing away, I looked down and was instantly able to spot it.
The best thing was on our return, we flew towards the airport, passed it down the left side of the airport at about 5000 feet, then out to vector in for an approach from the west - and I was able to see it then too!
Classic LY stuff.
Any other color able to say that? Nope?
Thought so. HA!

Imagine, a car thief, on a plane, going over that lot thinking "I'm going to break into one of those ca...SCORE! I can see the one I want from here."
Then bam, you come back from your trip with your car broken into or stolen!
...
That would never happen but the moral of the story is, sticking out is great and all, but you don't always attract positive attention
My smiley face is lightning yellow too. Notice how it brings out all the "curves" of the face.

My LY 8 makes everything in the parking lot around it look dated and dirty, even on rainy days.
I really wanted black, but the price was right on the yellow one because the dealer was having trouble selling it. I'm really starting to dig it, it always looks mostly clean. Attracts way to much attention though. The Homo comments from my buddies for driving a yellow non-domestic stopped after I took them for a ride in it and showed them a little of what it could do. Everybody walked away scared after taking a corner in the thing.
They should of used a yellow 8 in Transformers for bumblebee, the car fits the part perfect.

Just because it catches peoples eye doesn't mean that's a good thing :p

Ironically, this car in more than three years of having it has fewer parking lot nicks and scratches than any other car I've had at this point in my experience. In fact, of the three visible little dings on it, I've done two out of three.
I think it's because it's so visible.
