Well I guess what I would say to that situation is that yes, a few bad eggs may slip through the cracks, but if you look at the replacement rate of engines, it's been really really low so far. My dealership has so far replaced one engine, so they say. And really, if you happen to be one of those unlucky few whose engines fall through the proverbial cracks, most likely they'll break down by the time your ODO reaches 60k, so you'll get a new engine anyway. I don't see what all the fuss is about- you'd think we didn't have warranties.

Mysteriously, only the silver ones blow up...

 

Will I just went over 75,000 last week on an early build ( 5/2003 ) and this car has had very few problems and runs fine.
