Absolute beauty and one of the first google image search results for RX8. First thing that came to mind was what year/trim/bodykit?



Some searching on the old internet turned up this:

Which just shows the front of the picture and sorta leads me to believe this picture wasn't really produced by this bodykit company and that they just tried to imitate it and reused the picture.

Can anyone please identify the car in this picture and what spoiler/body kit/rims/etc are being used? I wonder also if this is just a one off car that was made for some need for speed photoshoot.

yes, mazdaspeed. includes entirely new front end, side skirts, rear, spoiler, wheels, and side mirrors.

however, i think this might have been an original concept/press photo b/c the front end spiller did not make it into production.

edit: Read this wikipedia entry and learned the mazdaspeed was a limited version of the 2004 rx-8. Confused that with the mazda3speed.

Mazdaspeed. We have a local guy here (RX-Hawk, rarely posts) who copied that car but he has the OEM Mazdaspeed wheels.

 

That rear spoiler is to die for. I've always admired it.

If the wheels suck, i won't bother looking at the rest of the car. Its kinda like seeing a girl(or guy) with a great body but a f*cked up face. Sure the body's nice - but it doesn't fix a f*cked up face.

 

Those are actually custom gunmetal Advan Connoisseur 51c (not Mazdaspeed wheels).
