leaking some kinda fluid but dont know from where

04, rx8 6-speed no mods. Theres a golden clear fluid that i spotted under the car when changing my oil. I know its not oil cause my oil was black and this fluid was a golden clear color. It was located directly in front of the oil pan on the metal brace that travels from left to right along the front end of the car. The leak is almost in the center but more towards the passenger side. If u look from the top i can see 4 clear thin tubes that appear to carry the same lubricant as what i spotted dripping along the bottom. The leak doesn't appear to be bad because theres no fluid on the floor of my driveway. Any ideas and what exactly is leaking? The car is out of the manufacturers warranty so id like to try to fix it myself. At this time, i dont notice any difference in the way the car drives/performs, however, i would like to get it repaired before something fails. Thanx in advance for any info given.

Check your air filte/airboxr...if it was filled too quickly at an oil change...it tends to run down the breather into the intake into the filter box...and from there out the hole onto the cross member and into that area....

From the sound of your description, that is part of the device that injects oil into the rotor to lubricate the apex seal.
Wipe your finger on the fluid. Feel it, Smell it. Is it oily? Does it smell like brake fluid. If necessary, taste it. Antifreeze has, I'm told, a sweet taste to it.

I had a cat that drank like a cup of antifreeze at 2 or 3 years old and lived to 17. Mighty beast.

If it's the oil metering pump, I wouldn't drive the car at all, just to be safe...

Water Pump

Check the bottom weep hole on the water pump.

I had one fail and the small leak after passing through the inner seal and bearing had this color.

The OP looks like a drive-by poster. Fires a shot then runs away.

I wouldn't tell anybody to "try" to taste "possible" anti-freeze.

Cuz it takes as little as 3-4oz of Ethylene Glycol to kill an Adult. not to mention "god knows what other crap it has at that area"

Also, All coolant sold in the US today should have denatonium benzoate in it. Its a chemical that has this ultra, in-human bitter taste. Its not deadly. but they add that in to kill Ethylene Glycol's sweet taste. (so no animals or dumbasses will think they're drinking kool-aid. but if they have no taste buds thats another story ...)
