Just got a 04 rx8 need some help

I just got an 04 rx8 for a pretty good deal its the touring package but auto. Its got 46k and i picked it up for around 7800, but it needs some simple work new breaks, a tune up, and a new rear left light.

Well on to my question, what are a good pair of breaks for my 8? I drive alot usually long distances on the freeway and i like to drive fast.

Also, do you guys know any cheap sites where i could pick up the left light?

wow... that seems like a pretty good price for only 46k.

I would say get the Mazda OEM brakes, the are actually very good at what they do. Either that or some Hawks HPS, they seem to be fairly popular.

Try searching and spelling it "brake" or "brakes". Lots of threads on brakes.

Is the tail light broken or just all foggy? If foggy, it can be fixed - there is a good thread here.

The previous owner of my car used the "drill a hole" method, I plugged the hole and used the $4 worth of silicone method and the moisture is long gone.

The car stops really fast with the stock brakes

good brakes i like are EBC green stuff. I tracked my car with that and the red stuff. green stuff works little better then stock and wont mess up ur rotors too bad. red stuff will rape ur rotors but its gravity defying braking power.

auto zone carries them, but usually only have the green stuff in stock. they have to special order the red stuff. word of advise, after going through a set of this red stuff, i had to resurface my rotors twice to get them even again. but also take into consideration that i tracked my car 3 times on a set. those brakes were really fun though. stuff would fly from my back seat and hit the front windshield every time i stopped.

From what I have gathered on here and from Googling. Popular brakes include EBC, Racing Brake, Hawk and stock. I'm sure Brembo is fine too.
