I was just coming on to ask a question about this.

Do they work on 08 Rex's running firmware 10.01?

You can use either the AudioLink or the Axxess with XM. AudioLink you would use a 1/8" plug and the Axxess should work through the doc interface.

Mine just stopped working about 2 weeks ago.

Everytime i plug in my IPOD it locks my ipod up and it freezes. I tried 3 ipods and it freezes all of them.

I try starting my car with it and then i get the EX: 0 and i can control the music from my ipod with the sound coming out but then after a few minutes it just stops.

I'm gonna take it to Mazda on Monday so they can fix it.

No but you don't really need the secret bolt. It is a security feature to make it so you have to dig under the dash to get the radio out.

yea but it seems that the left side of the radio isn't flush with the air vents like the right side. I'm thinking the bolt will close the gap

The bolt will not close any gap. The bolt goes in perpendicular to the radio so if the radio isn't all the way in the bolt won't go anywhere.

I'm looking for something like this for my daughter. We just got an 05 '8 Touring A/T and it has the Bose system in it with the 6-CD changer built-in. It also has buttons on it for controlling "SAT" (sat radio) and "TAPE/MD" (tape/mini disc) but neither is installed in the car. Would like something that will play through the car audio system from her ipod touch (early version) and also charge the ipod. Not interested in any fm transmitter option - the sound quality of those stinks. What options are out there and where can they be purchased?

Take a look around 05TouringRX8. There are 5 or 6 different manufacturers going after 2 different setups. All have been reviewed and discussed heavily in the Interior/Audio/Electronics section.
