I think you have more underlying problems than you have spoken of. Was your license suspended or did you total two cars?

Dont know what to say. You might have nt checked something off. You need to put that you have:
Anti Theft
Engine Imobilizer

And you need to set liability to 1 million dollars and raise the deductable as high as you think you can afford.
Also if you are insured on your parents cars put that you have been insured a full insurance term, It saved me $900 a year if I checked that off
When it askes if you drive to school or work say no and be honest on the KM driven

My 04 has a chip key which counts as anti theft and an engin inmobilizer, Im assuming the 06 still has that. And my deductables are at $1000 each but even at $300 each my quote would be $3500 a year.

Might have something to do with where you live. Higher crime/More accidents?
My quote with an 06 GT is $3400 a year just did it, Full coverage

Let me know if this helps if not ill keep looking around for you

yeah man something's going on that you're not thinking of. or your family has ridiculous coverage and a $0 deductible and you're just plugging in their numbers. you gotta change it up like bail said to get your rate down. but something's going on here. do you have horrible credit (do they account for that in canada?)?

ha ha man i want to believe you!

the only other thing i can think of is what coverage you're trying to get. maybe your parents have crazy good coverage, super high limits, and a super low deductible. you'll really have to tweak those to get the cost down...but hard to say w/o knowing the numbers

I dunno man. Ran your quote and got like 8k a year with my info and your address. Not sure what the deal is with Richmond Hill. Either there is high crime or a lot of accidents in that area. Maybe just cuz its in Toronto. Might get different results if you call them. The number is 1-888-544-9929
Best of luck dude

That is insane. We are getting to a point where the annual insurance cost for this is more than the value of the car!!

Granted, I am old enough to be the father of most of you on here, but I pay < $600 per year for full coverage on my RX8. I've got a son who will turn 16 next year, and adding him to my policy is "only" going to be about $2,000 per year for coverage on any of our 3 vehicles.

More likely because in the eyes of the insurance company a 19 y/o kid with a sports car is considered high risk.

You have six more years of your life to struggle with this issue. Better get used to it.

I am in Toronto Area as well, and we get high insurance rate. Not much will change if you are quoted to be the primary driver on the 8.

I am 24 and have a 2010 R3, using Beladirect.com - it quoted me just below $4,000.

GTA, Ontario has one of the most expensive insurance rate in Canada.

The key is to be over 25 and get married. Have your parents be the primary owner and driver, but not applicable in your case since you have 3 cars under a household.

This is Toronto... the end.

**EDIT** - I only had 1 speeding ticket and no claims.

$300 / month is good in our age and a sports car. Before I used to drive a Civic and insurance went up $500-600/year after I got the R3.
