If your engine blew from running FI.

Could you, in theory, take the aftermarket parts out and replace them with stock? Avoiding a voided warranty?

If you clean everything up nicely, you could try....but something tells me if you blue it due to FI, then they will see that something was jacked up and somebody failed at life when trying to set up/tune their car for it.

another question.. would motor mounts be recommended? I was told that by stabilizing the engine better you prevent some parasitic loss. But then I hear that since its a rotory you dont really need to worry about it moving..

yeah in theory u could do it but who knows if it will really work....yes that is very possible to do.....just have to do it right.....without goin FI you prob need to run the Cobb AP to help, nitrous there are quite a few things you could do but with FI you can easitly push it well over 300 whp

if your current mounts allow your engine to spin around, then an upgrade might be in order. My car runs fine with OEM mounts.

200whp is pretty easy to do n/a. no need to go FI

get an 3" exhaust
get a 3" cat replacement straight pipe
get the cobb accessport
get a good intake (mazdaspeed, aem, racing beat+duct)

That would be a lot to work, to undo a forced induction.

Its possible, the problem is, will the dealership honor the warranty ? Cuz some dealerships just dont wanna honor any "big" warranty like engine for some reason. probably too much paper work and not worth the time.

The first ting I'd do, in theory, is post a thread on a public Internet forum asking about the plausibility of my plan for attempting to commit an act of fraud.

Well, the question is will you be content calling your car to go to the dealer for warranty. Theoretically if you did get the car back to stock and looks 100% normal. Make sure when the service tech asks whats the problem. Telling him 8 pounds of boost probably wouldn't be a good thing.

They do read this board. At least one member had his warranty voided because of something he posted here.

yes but then you'd be one of the ******** responsible for the hard time everyone else gets when they bring their car in for legitimate reasons

That makes me glad that I took your post as straight-up.

Also makes me glad that I did not post my other thought on this topic. Which was that removing a turbo, then re-installing it on the new engine is a pretty big effort, and that Rotard should consider just knocking off a few 7-11s to get the money for a rebuild.

with 400 dollars worth on performance mods ( Typhoon, midpipe) , I dynoed at 190whp. It is FAR from impossible to hit 200whp, its actually quite easy. The questions is would all that money be worth the extra 10whp to me?
