the whole freaking car rattles, get used to it lol.. Mine do a very little bit only sometimes. My rear view mirror is another story, I have punched that thing so many times out of fustration haha
you shouldnt have a system in your rx-8.. 300 watt bose should be more then enough. Havn't you realized that excessive bass is just outright ******* annoying yet? haha.. Not to mention you should be trying to minimize weight gains on your car to improve performance. So I'd advise selling it to avoid unwanted theft attention. Then use that money to buy healthy foods and lose weight
Rotard
but yes i have considered selling the gear.. ive had it for few years now and kinda tired of subs..
maybe ill get rid of them and get me that RB midpipe ive wanted for a while now..
how much you guys think i can get for 2x10'' sonys with box and 1200 watt amp.. lol
id put it on the marketplace but i fukin hate shipping this stuff.. ill try craigslist
btw, ukno the doors still rattle with regular bass.. wish mazda insulated the doors better.. oh well theyr really light i guess..
not to mention, you guys are talking about losing weight, have you ever picked up that stuff? its heavy as ****
Just to put some gasoline on this fire...
Stock systems are for the audiologically retarded, and the bass is only loud enough when it rattles your nuts so much your first kid comes out of the womb with shaken baby syndrome.
+1 for dynamatting the doors. You'll pick up some low end response too in the process. Do spend time pinpointing where the rattle is coming from though. Dyna mat can change the resonant frequency of a panel to stop it from vibrating as much by adding mass to it. It is much less good at preventing 2 panels from vibrating against each other.
I've got a terrible rattle coming from my rear deck speaker panel which only happens at a very specific frequency. I forget about it for weeks until I listen to a song that triggers it.

I've got that too, but i never notice it in the car. The little silver side bits inside the tail light move an impressive amount when the bass is kicking hard
The more bass you thump the more **** will come loose and rattle. With enough bass for long enough *any* car will start to rattle.
If your rearview mirror is shaking like a belly dancer on crack, then that's not the only part of the car being shaken around. With enough bass you are shaking your whole car like a rag doll. Plastic fasteners pop off, bolts start to come loose, parts of the interior start to beat the sheet metal they are fastened to like a drum, etc. Also, metal fatigue occurs and metal parts can eventually just snap apart.
There are speakers in the doors, and the hollow interior of the door acts like a speaker box. It's no surprise that that's the first place to start to rattle; there's a lot of pressure inside the door when you crank it up. You can stop that rattle, but if you keep pounding the car with bass you'll get more rattles sooner or later.
If you want to shake a car apart with your audio system, get a Scion. My 2 cents.

I cant hear it from inside the car but standing out side when I'm filling up you can tell its the driver side light. My friend Jordan has the same issue and he has 2x12"s. Guess all 8 have this issue.
My windows rattle when its cold and my F-ING steering wheel buttons rattle
Thats it so mine is pretty damn quiet as far as rattles go. Most of the rattles Ive acquired over time have been silenced with double sided tape
