If your Car is Group 1 and they hold ur car what happens, do you have to pay your montly payment/lease? If so, do they give you some money for the difference or a NICE rental car? I don't want a Dodge Neon for a month lol

I doubt you can skip any payments, especially if you financed with any company not named Mazda (or Ford).

...But I'm pretty sure Mazda will pay for an equivalent rental for the duration they keep your car. I own an 04, and have had warranty maintenance done before. My dealer gave me a rental voucher and provided a shuttle to the rental car lot. I ended up driving a Mazda 6 for a day or two while the work was done.

...but still, I don't like the line about "Hold the car until instructions are recieved from Mazda". ...Not encouraging.

Your rental depends on your dealer. My dealer gives a certificate for enterprise and it is for a compact car. The times I have had to go in for service I have had a Explorer (I paid extra for it), Malibu Maxx, and a altima. If they really have to hold my car I will demand before I ever go in that I get an equivalent car since they dont have a time frame on how long they will need to keep the car.

As for your payment yes you have to make it.

If I had to take my 8 in and they need to keep it, I better get a 350Z or Mustang GT or something sporty...GOD help me if I have to drive around in a SUV for a month.

I traded another car in for the RX8. They just asked for a deposit and I took my old car back home. All of the documents are just sitting there with my salesman waiting to be signed. If you don't have a trade-in, I would imagine they will give you a rental (or a voucher), not that it's going to be at all as exciting as an RX8!

Looks like us "early adopters" are really gettin' hosed. I think I might be giving MNAO a call once my notice arrives in the mail. I may just ask them to buy the damn thing back. Love the car, but everyone has their limits.

You know guys, I took my car in for a 30,000 mile service yesterday and asked them for a reflash, since it hasn't been done in more than a year. They told me that they weren't going to do a reflash since a recall was coming out that would cover it, did the service, and GAVE ME THE CAR BACK. I think that the "hold" the car means that they should hold off of work until all group twos are done, then take group one cars in and service them after all group twos are completed. Have any cars that we know about caught fire yet? I think that if any had we would have heard. Anyway, that's what happened to me, and I don't think that the dealers are going to park your car for you.

thats ridiculous they found a issue that might effect your car and they are going to fix it. how is that getting hosed. just plain silly.

lets keep the questions and comments in one place please. there is already a recall thread in the Issues and Problems section this htread closed

oh to kromix- they should only hold your car if they find damage to the fuel tank and dont have the parts to replace. that is why the letters havent gone out yet- got to get the parts in the states. so just wait until you get your letter and then call for an appointment- tell them you dotn want to have it checked unless they have the parts on hand.
