Idea for a product

If Richard Paul is reading this, please watch the thread . . . there may be an idea here for you. Or not.

I think a shifter gate, like Ferrari used to use, would be **** in an RX8. A slightly domed, polished (or black, or whatever) plate with six long slots cut in it fore and aft, and one across the middle of the others, that the shift lever would track through as you shifted. Mount it under the ring that now holds the top of the boot, but leave the boot intact under it to do its thing.

It would seem to me to be a natural to use with the short shifter.

Anybody got an thoughts about yea or nay? Some of you, of course, are predictable, but get it off your chest anyway.

This is one of the lamest ideas I've ever heard.

Those shifter gates shift extremely slow. They're cumbersome to shift with.

Also, you posted in the wrong section. This stupid thread doesn't belong here. Besides, Richard Paul would never come here to read this shitty thread.

Please slap yourself for having this lame idea.

There. I'm glad you got that off your chest. I knew you would.

Here's my thought on the speed of shifting. If you slam shift, like your tranny was an old Hurst 4-speed, I'm glad I'm not in the market for your car. If the gates are properly shaped it needn't be particularly slow. Hell, I'm old and slow, myself, so even if it was slow it wouldn't matter.

As to wrong place - guide me, oh wise one. I didn't select this one on a whim - it's a DIY idea, once the piece is made.

that is already there.. you just cant see it..

the rp shifter works better than anyone that used a hurst shifter would know.

btw, hurst did not make a tranny... if you slam a shift you have wasted effort..

diy is that.. you should do this yourself...

here diy is a how to.

you could also send your idea rp himself...

Even if you think this would be "****" in an RX8, I think this is the worst thread EVER in this forum. Congratulations.

Every time I hear someone moan "Do it for the kids," I think of what they can grow up into and say "Nooo!"

This forum is full of lame ideas, most customization is to somebody or other, but people do 'em anyway because they like whatever it is. Illuminated emblems? Starter buttons? Yeah; I asked. Grow up and get some manners, kid.
