I'm wanting to convert my 04 rx8 to a right hand drive. Can anyone give me details on where to find the parts that I need?

i dont think its ever been done, since there are right hand drive rx8s being sold to the areas that drive on the left side of the road. you might have to import parts from australia or england.

I have no idea how but you better plan on spending more than the car is worth trying to switch it over, ur best bet would be to buy a new 1 from japan or w/e and ship it...the cost to do that is not worth it. If you have the cash go for it...ull be 1 of the only ones in the US with a right had 8

Your car is one of the few true JDM in the U.S. Don't bother doing something that stupid.

Now...why the HELL would you want to do that? So you can be blind making left turns? lol god damn.... i hate people trying to be all japanese and ****..i mean theres a limit on how ridiculous you can get. You do know why japanese cars are right hand drive right? It serves no purpose here in USA. Sorry about that , got a little worked up there . That post just reminded me of my ricer acquiantance....

Your money would definitely be better spent selling your 8 and importing a right sider.

Er...i think it'd be cheaper in the end to just sell your 8 and buy a euro model. definetely.

I am interested in hearing a reason why you would want to do that as well... Only reason I'd want a right hand drive car is if it was cause I had to import it... like a GTR or something like that lol

there is the problem that EU or japanese speck cars probably don't meet US emission standards so it might be hard or impossible to bring them into the US

Get a US Postal carrier vehicle and drive it for a week to see if you like driving on the right hand side.

The GTRs and such that only are made in Right hand drive would be the main reason to have it that way. or if you like shifting better with your left hand...

If you are looking for something rare to do to your car change the climate control to the automatic. That would be cool.

Shifting with the left hand is like wiping your butt with your non-dominant hand.

Go ahead, try it. It's almost impossible to do effectively.

And have fun having a completely street illegal car. Whenever the cops pull you over it'll be a good laugh until they stick a number of tickets to your *** and impound your car?

Ha ha - we must all be superhumans down here in nz if that were true ......

RHD cars from US are often swapped over to LHD here - mostly mustangs corvettes etc .

in my case its a litle diferent, im not doing it for fun, in my country it was legal (at least there was no law that prohibit it) so a lot of people imported JDM cars, now a law was pass making it ilegal, so its either converted or sell it for parts

I want to do it simply because I want a unique rx8, I had no idea that rhd were illegal in the US. Since I know of at least 15 people that own and drive them in multiply states. Either way I got the info I was looking for, thx for all of your voices. If you see a rhd you know whos it will be.
