I need help fast, please

ok so my car was shuttin off on me, and didnt always start....so i took it to the dealer. and they called and told me it was a fuse and it wiped out my computer...then they said there was 3 fuses blown and it erased everything off the computer....but they wont warranty it....i bought the car used from another dealer that told me it had a good factory warranty on it...which it would be warrantied except one of the fuses wasnt a mazda fuse it was a napa fuse....i have never even looked at my fuses so i did not put it in there...
now they want 100$ before i can get my car back and they didnt fix anything
my question is can they really do that or is there anyway around this so that its warrantied, cuz dont wanna buy a new computer or pay the 300$ for them to try to reprogram it.
thanks.

tell them to put the old fuses back in. Buy the fuses and replace them yourself.

They can not do work without your authorization. Tell them it was unauthorized.

They may still be able to get you for 1 hours labor to diagnose the problem

You'll probably want to consult the dealer you bought it from..

Either way you're probably out at least that $100 diag..

it would be warrantied except one of the fuses wasnt a mazda fuse it was a napa fuse
They would need to prove that the NAPA fuse did not meet their specs and caused the problem. If they could really prove that, you'd have a case against NAPA. If things really get ugly, NAPA could be your ally.

Look up Moss-Magnuson.

If it was me, I'd go ballistic over them wanting the hundred dollars.

I would suspect they are full of it....as fasr as the fuse not being Mazda one...as long as it's the right type they can't say anything.

If the car is under the time/mileage restraints it should still be under warranty..

PS: the ECU is covered under the emissions warranty...so I really doubt that it isn't still covered

it has to be under warranty, THEY CAN'T VOID A WARRANTY OVER NAPA FUSE!

NAPA fuse meet most maufacture standards, including mazda's and can be used as a replacement on Mazda vehicles, it will not void your warranty!

the dealer is a bitch, you have a case against them, go **** them over NOW, don't even pay them the 100$, tell them you didn't say to do anything, they did it without your consent and you're taking your car, and leaving

go to another dealer, or tell them to prove that the fuses are the cause of the problem, I bet they can't prove it

thanks for the quick replies guys....anything else anyone has to say or any more info post it up.......

apparently the fuse was melted and overcharged the computer but i had the car for close to a year like this....anyway they are also saying that someone put on jumper cables backwards and it erased everything off my computer.....now i did have to jump it but the cables were on the right way....they day before i took it i jumped it and drove it around for about 15 mins...then i started it to move it 10 mins later, no jumper cables just turned the key and it started....that was the last time i had it running...the day we took it i went to start it to pull it on the trailer and it turned over, but not fast enough to start because the battery was dead. after that the little flashing key in my cluster started flashing....and thats wat it does when it doesnt start...if that flashes it wont start....so we pushed it on the trailer, took it to the dealer and pushed it off thats it...and now they are telling me this....but is it possible that i could have driven the car with the computer erased...i dont think so
what do you guys think....i need my car back driving my paps truck sucks.
thanks

Car will not run without the ECU program...so on that count they are full of ****

Might be a problem with the security/ keyless control module...it may have de-registered your key??

Nice work! Dealerships try to pull crap like that to scam people out of money, thinking that they won't fight back
