It seems my insurance is not wanting to pay to fix it now. They called late in the afternoon yesterday when I was at work and said it should take less than 2 hours to fix but the body shop wanted 6-1/2 hours to fix it. Well, I guess the insurance adjuster was too dumb to understand what needed to be done to it and tore the insulation off my hood and said you can just hammer the dent out from the back, which you can't do. They need to take the paint off the hood, use some sort of epoxy puller kit (something like that involving epoxy and pulling ) and then repaint the hood. The insurance guy says they don't need to repaint it. Well, if they don't I will be left with scuffs on my hood or no paint since they have to take paint off to pull this dent out.

So, this morning I called the other body shop of my choice (only two I will ever use) through my car dealership group, which is less convenient and further away. I explained my situation to him and he started swearing about the "dumb ***" insurance adjusters for my particular company and said he would call them today to get the information and see what they could do about it and see about making arrangements to move my car to their shop, not that I would have time until Saturday. The other body shop was easy to drop off at since it was basically on my way to work, just not on the usual route.

The guy at the dealership body shop said in most instances I would most likely be better off with a whole new hood for it anyway. The insurance adjuster thinks I should have an "after market" hood instead of a genuine Mazda hood. Of course, the new body shop guy laughed and said good luck finding an aftermarket RX-8 hood that looks like the original hood, since he has fixed numerous RX-8s at his shop before. He says they just can't be found unless you wan't to get a some sort of body kit, which I do not.

This whole thing is really starting to **** me off, so when my six months are up I am changing to the same company my mom and stepdad use for everthing even though It will cost me about $30 more a month. They have never had a problem getting their insurance to pay for anything or argue about the amount and cost of labor involved.

I have a few accounts of insurance companies failing to do their job with both parties involved doing much swearing. I hate 'em, however at least when I pay mine I don't end up paying more for the insurance on my car than it is worth like my roomate.
