I emailed Mazda on the release date...

Hi Shayaan,

I appreciate the opportunity to respond to you.

In regards to your e-mail question, mass production is scheduled to begin on May 12th. Pre-sell RX-8 units are scheduled to arrive at dealerships in mid-July. Allocated production RX-8's will arrive at dealerships in mid-to-end July.

Actually Florida does...stopped by my dealer today, and he said he already received one unit last week, but it is in the garage being Zaino'ed until the 1st week of June, after which it will be donated to our local DMV to use as a prize to entice new, young drivers to study and get a 100% on the driver's test...SYKE! :D If you couldn't tell, this whole delivery date discussion is really getting old for me. It's no wonder newbies don't use the search button, because you get results from 500 different threads all presenting the same arguments. Nothing against either of the two previous posters, I can just see this snowballing into another debate where someone's dealer is smarter, cooler, or more connected to the Triad than someone else's, and is getting delivery before everyone else...:o

No, yeah, that's cool, man. I like to hear what MNAO has to say, but am just getting tired of hearing what all the dealers are saying - about everything really. It'd be nice to hear a dealer not talk out of his posterior for a change. Mine does the same thing...

Edit: I apologize if it seemed like I was slighting you in any way - that was not my intent. I appreciate it when moderators and others post info from official and reliable sources.

Heh my dealer said first week of July so that seems about right to me. I think he realized immediately that I knew more than him so he knew that he couldn't go rip me off.

This information, from Mazda USA, is always helpful. For, Mazda Canada is all but useless. While they have an updated RX-8 website - Mazda.Ca - it doesn't tell you when the car arrives. The new Accessories area is not ready. Would it be so hard for Mazda.Ca to provide accurate, helpful information about delivery dates and order times? Manufacturers spend a fortune advertising but often let potential customers down at the last mile.

Agree! I think being demanding has a long way to go
in Canada. For anyone interested the two e-mails I have are
SGrondin@mazda.ca
and
DKlan@maxda.ca
The latter being Markeing GM.

(and don't say I told you)

Vancouver:

Did you notice in the pricing section on the CAN site? They are calling it a 5 speed manual! They may have fixed the problem already. It had me worried for a second.

I don't see the problem: When I go to a dealer here he get's into his computer and tells me the delivery schedule: September. The RX-8 will be presented officially on 28 of July and the first deliveries are scheduled for -- September. Your dealer's got no PCs where they can look into?

Ah, one dealer told me it might come earlier, like August. I just don't believe him...

So, as I don't want to have a new car in September I will wait until April next year, which means ordering around December. Pretty easy.
