RX-8 problems....

The 3rd port, door clunk, build quality(seats plastic cover, etc), etc... They said it's pre-production car, or is it? Japan has their delivery already, has Mazda fixed their problems?

--------Should we put our effort and email Mazda Japan about these concern? If we all put our effort they might listen, since this forum has a significant number or members----------

What should we do guys?

The only thing I was aware of was the port opening problem.

When I checked out the car at the NY Auto Show I was happy with the materials used, and the build quality. I was also satisfied by the sound the door made when it closed.

So I really don't know what you're talkin about.

no EASTMOONsan, because you have the standard power (210ps or whatever) engine, there are no tertiary ports to get stuck closed.

Hi wakeech-san
Of course, I know that.

The big problem from other Japanese RX-8 owner is not shown on Japanese forum site.

Some Japanese guy say
The air pressure of a tire of RX-8 was higher than usual.
I think this problem is just in (domestic) Japan.
I cannot find the cause. (Mazda dealer is coping with it)
but The problem has already finished now.

I think, Other owner's (who live in Japan) report reaches you soon.
Sure, me too.

The doors did'nt sound to good when I saw the 8 on southbeach. This was a preproduction model, and was getting abused pretty bad, so it was not a concern to me.

ok, so i'm late in catching up with the news...my excuse is that i read, think, don't post, and then post after long thought (which can range from a week to a year) :P
anyway, about the port problem..since rx8 problems were presented here, the rx8 in the best motoring time attack video was an rx8 with a closed tertiary port? which means it was running as a 210hp-240hp machine instead of 250?
i searched, i'm still unlcear. if you can redirect me, that'd be great. don't hit me tho.

No, the Best Motoring RX-8 was running at full steam. Just look at the tach during the run, there's no way that the third ports were stuck because the 8 pulled hard towards the redline and past it. This whole port thing is a bit of a red herring. SCC can make all the claims it likes, but when the mags are getting consistant 0-60 times in the 5.9-6.0 range, it pretty much debunks the theory that ALL the preproduction cars had stuck 5/6 ports.

Read the article from SCC again. Because its test car had sticky ports, it assumed that ALL cars had the problem, which is not the case, as evidenced by the other mag reviews. It's time this issue was put to bed.
