Hi, I don't know if there's a better place for this, I looked and this seemed like the best place to put it. How would you go about shipping a hood, where would you get the packing materials, how much would it cost for them, which carriers would ship it? The reason I ask is because I want this hood:

and the owner isn't sure how to ship it.

My apologies if this doesn't belong in here, I did look around first to see if there's a better place for it.

 

lots of bubble wrap, he already has wood screwed into the area where the hinges go to protect the tips of the hood.
strong cardboard, tape, and a prayer.
You're going to spend a bunch on shipping, try freight companies or greyhound.

 

I don't mind it costing $100 to ship the thing, I just want it to get here safely :P

This advocates using a pallet, that sounds like a good idea to me. It will be costly, no matter what.
