Hello, i am going to be looking at a couple rx8s and was hoping some ppl can tell me some things i should ask/look for when going to look at them. thx

 

ask the very same questions you would of ANY car you are buying used.
Maintenance records? original motor? any accidents? etc etc.

 

If your buying it from a Mazda dealer then have them pull the service/warranty history on the vehicle. And if they say they can't, go to another dealer. They fail.

 

so far the cars are all from the actual owner. Should i ask if they ever start the car to just move a couple feet.like those ones

 

I'd ask to see the service history. Were all the TSBs done?

Is it nearing or even past the 8 year, 100,000 mile rotary warranty?

Original engine or replacement? How many miles on the replacement if so? How many miles/months left on it's warranty?

When were all the usual wearable parts last replaced?

Lots of "it depends" on what to ask. What year is it? Etc.

 

You might also ask them how they drive the car, if they redline it frequently or not, etc. Since nobody has mentioned it yet get a compression test done to see how healthy the motor is.
