How much to install Tein Basics

How much do you think it should cost to install Tein Basics on our cars? I just got my basics yesterday and I have been calling around getting quotes for the install:

My 1st quote was $600 for install
My 2nd quote was $900 for install and alignments

What ball park number should I be looking at to spend on install? I would love to do this myself but I dont have the tools or the know how to do it. Also anyone have any recommendations on what I should do?

Thanks!

A good Mechanic will do it for about $300. Dealerships want about $600, and a crook will ask for $900.

Yeah, I would have to agree. 600 is ridiculous, 900 is asking for a punch in the face. 250-350 for install depending on the shop and 60 or so for an alignment would be about right.

Just do it yourself ... at least then you know it's done properly as well!

It will take about 2 hours for a good mechanic......so $200 would be a fair price

You will need an alignment as well........

...try taking it to a small mom n pop type of shop. They will more than likely do it for a lot cheaper. Also, it most likely wont be mobbed with people and tech's running around and you can watch the guy, and make sure he hand tightens the control arms bolts, drops the car and THEN torques them tight.

i would say do it yourself, just make sure you have a breaker bar, torque wrench, and lots of sockets and wrenches. then go pay for the alignment.

Thats what I am thinking about doing. I just got quoted at 300 for the install, with 75 for the balance thing?? and 175 for alignment.

But the thing is, I dont have the know how to do all this. How easy is it?

Here in cincy there arent any real shop to take your car to to get stuff done. There are maybe 1 or 2. So they can charge whatever they want and it sucks. I just wish I knew how to do this ****! Its getting frustrating!

Wow, I paid $160.00 for lifetime alignments at Firestone. $200.00 is a fair price for a spring intall.

what about a shop like mieneke, or tires plus, or some company shops like that, they normally have lower prices
