Cars for Sale: 2004 Mazda RX-8 in Hesperia, CA 92345: Coupe Details - 324238845 - AutoTrader.com

10 years with a bra, and never washed. Paint is toast. That plus the absurd asking price and the slew of misinformation boasting the car makes me laugh.

The most depressing thing is when some ignorant new owner purchases it then comes here bragging about the car they got, likely directly followed with a complaint thread about how they need a new engine.

Well, with only 5k miles, if it wasn't exposed to much dirt when driven and somehow kept relatively dust free, what would be the consequences? Never washed does seem like an odd thing to advertise to me. It's not like a proper, occasional wash would destroy the paint.

I know of one that I pass everyday going to work. Its parked in the driveway of this house EVERYDAY. It never moves. If you are in Illinois, take a drive south on bartlett road coming from Higgins, you can't miss it. Knock on the guys door and see if he will sell it to you.

cant think of a car that looks good in yellow. my friend owns the yellow rumble bee and I think it looks lame. although he thinks my blue rx8 looks lame, so there you have it.

i passed a LY in my LY just the other day with a black hood, mine has a black hood and half black, half LY MS bumper so they were like twins.

i don't like when i come across another car that looks nearly exactly like mine..

Ok, thanks.
I saw a picture of a LY with matching
eyelids on the web.
I can't decide if I like that look.
I think I would have to see one up close before I would do it.

they would have to be nearly perfect, with the light color the seams would stick out like a sore thumb and make it look more assy than better.

I definitely don't think yellow is the best color for many cars, but for the 8, I wouldn't own any other color. I had an '88 turbo II in pure red and loved that color, but I've always been underwhelmed by the velocity red of the 8. LY reminds me of some of the Ferraris out there. It's the perfect shade of yellow, not too pale or too orange. But for me, it's the best color, which is why I went used instead of new when I got it. I've only seen 2 other LY cars in my area, one about a month ago which looked like a sport with no aero package and apart from that it's been about 5 years since I saw the other one, which was a GT with aero package like mine (I've since ripped off the kit and installed the shine autobahn kit). I love having a unique looking car and it still makes heads turn everywhere I go.

True that.
I still get occasional compliments around town or at the pump.
I want to download Queen's old song "I'm in Love With my Car".

My LY is currently DOA.
Awaiting opportunity and $$ for a new engine.
Still in excellent shape otherwise, fully loaded GT MT.
Idk if it could've had any other options.

I'm currently awaiting 2 new knees and a 3rd back surgery, so the thought of parting with it is beginning to enter my mind, but it would break my heart if/when it happens.

I also have the rare AutoArt LHD LY model.

My dad bought a LY in 2004 new, he had to sell it in 2010 due to money issues. I just picked up another LY to keep around.

Here's hoping you don't have to part with it. The GT had very few options available. The one big one is the navigation system and the other is the spare tire kit. I think everything else would have been accessories like aero add ons, rotary accents, and any other accessory from the accessory catalog.

I still never found out how many LYs were made, but mine I'm sure is one of the last surviving fully loaded LY MT GTs.
A brand new engine is now purchased, and hopefully it will be back on the road in a few months.

The best color for a sports car.
I'm seeing a lot more of the new retro models in yellow, Mustangs, Challengers and Camaros especially.

Not a huge fan of Guy Fieri, but he gets it.
