Not sure. May trade it when the next gen cars come out, or may just get something else like a used NSX.

After test driving the 135i and being kind of underwhelmed I've decided to keep my car for a few more years. I couldn't justify the outlay of cash for a new car when it is not as much fun to drive as my RX-8.

So to celebrate, I went out and purchased some R comps and new wheels for the track. Also had a performance alignment done and replaced plugs, plug wires and ignition coils.

I did the math and being cautoius with miles, I should be out of my inequity in 16 months, and Im about 3.5 years away from owning it. I made the decision last night actually after hours of discussion with the ladyfriend that after this winter, the 8 is officially going in the garage.....for good. That's right, I decided to demote it from DD to a fun toy just so I can keep it.

Im keeping it (despite all the problems)

You only live once and this car makes me happy.

Never. Once I can buy a beater it goes in the garage. After college either MM turbo and full build, or 20b.

I am one of those rare enthusiast who will keep the 8 forever and make it a classic. So far 4.5 years with me.

I will buy another additional car as daily driver when the next RX-X is realeased with the 16-X.

Cheers

I will most likely keep it until it becomes a dedicated track car. then i will buy another daily and do minor mods to that, then once that is a dedicated track car, ill sell the 8.. so most likely a very long time.

Till the end of time. Not much use reselling it due to its low resell value, and has much sentimental value to me.

I will have mine till the wheels fall off. Once that happens I will replace the wheels strip it down to bare essentials and do nothing but autox with it. Then purchase whatever rx is out at the time the wheels decide to fall off.

No plans on ridding myself of the RX8. I purchased this is my long term toy. Eventually, when I buy something else, it will be in addition to this car, not a replacement.

I'm really trying to be objective (as in not a fan boy), but there really isn't any other car as unique and nice as the 8 anywhere near its price tag out there.

I guess I'll keep it until someone comes up with something that's better in my eyes.

It's pretty amazing that the 8 compares so comparably to a Porsche Cayman (not the S, obviously) at 60% of the price. I think the Cayman would be the car I would be driving now if it weren't for the incredible value that is the 8.

Until:

The car falls apart in a way that even duct tape can't fix, or

The LHC destroys the universe.

Whichever comes first.

this is the first car i ever owned and bought myself. first car i ever put on jackstands and worked on to change fluids. a car that even my previous boss, with her bimmer 6 coupe, thought was beautiful. first car that gave me head turns. a car that got people asking me how fast i've gone and how many tickets i've gotten for it. first car that made me do double takes while walking away, even got me staring at times in admiration. i'm not seeing any possibilities of it being replaced in the future yet. yes, i'm keeping it for a very long time.

I’ll keep for 4-5 years but that is mainly due to current expenses. I’d change cars every 2-3 years if I had the opportunity.

Ask me again around the end of 2011 six months before the warranty runs out. Time will tell.

I'm hoping to keep it and be able to buy another S14 for more daily duties/commuting. Believe it or not I loved mine for 160 hp and excellent gas mileage.
