once it was filed with the NHTSA it became a MANDATORY recall just like any other with repairs needed to be done according to the recall.

as stated in the letter in many cases a specific certificate of completion must go with the vehicle or the dealer could be facing stiff fines.

you'd be surprised how many people don't/won't understand that simple thing tho. just look up a post where the person called the msp a recall again.

MSP not a Recall. Got it. Still does not matter. Mazda USA needs to inform you of these fixes/updates to your vehicle.

What exactly does the msp 16 fix. Cause I went to my dealer and apparently it was never done to my 8 and now that my warranty has expired I would have to pay $100 out of my pocket, would it be worth it to get it done or should I just fort about it?

It increases OMP flow. You need it. It's also free, and the dealer is required to do it. Read the TSB that was posted earlier in this thread.

Print it out, highlight the part that says that the dealer is supposed to do it on any car that comes in for service. Then hope you get a service writer who can read.

Peel the label off and go back to that dealership and have it done. Then you'll be sure.
