TX I need help finding out what happened???

I was driving my car on the highway yesterday for about 2 hours when the power suddenly cut out and it died...it wouldn't start at first so I let it sit for a few minutes (about 30) then it started up and I drove the remaining way (about 20 miles) and car seems to be fine...I gotta do the same drive today and I'm honestly worried about it..

Can anyone help?
thanks,
Jon

Sounds like your catalytic converter potentially.

But then it could be anything really, so as Jason said, give us some more details.

Ypeer Skipper, even a bad battery can cut out, then slightly recharge enough after 30 min. to restart.

Maybe you were driving to fast and the car computer shut you off.

You can not ask random questions like yours...

Think about it......

I just got the car friday and just now found out a little about the rotary engines...I figured someone else may have had the same problem...but it's an 04 with 71000 miles, just changed the oil with no problems Saturday the 14th of august, records that came with the car only go to 20,000 miles so i'm gonna call the dealership tomorrow and see what I can find out then let yall know, thanks Jon

Do you want help or are you just sharing your experience

If you want us to help you, we need more details.

Answer these questions to start and add more if you have more to share:

Auto or Manual?

Did the car seem to have full power before it died as well as after?

Did it make any strange noises or get notably louder?

Any odors?

Describe "died out", did the car just shut off (everything turned off including all interior accessories, or did the car stall out at a light and needed to be restarted, tell us descriptively what happened)?

also did it sputter and die like it was fuel, or did it just cut off like it was ignition failure?

That happened to me once to on my way out to Colorado. I was headed up an incline. It could have been your fuel pump cutting out, your car overheating.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens again. I would look into replacing your fuel pump sooner than later though.
