Learn to vehicle dynamics first, then you'll know if you can drift. I already know you don't understand these concepts simply because you're asking - if you do try drifting without understanding the basic concepts, don't expect sympathy when you stuff your brand new 8 into a guardrail or building (or worse).

Power sliding does not equal drifting.

Either way, I guess I'm the only person that doesn't find drifting all that, um cool?

yea i def dont power slide. i can hold it for a while, its really not that hard. i mean its nothing fancy, just good fun in open areas. i learned on my old supercharged mustang which i could hold for days. i know the difference. im no drift nut by any means, i just like to have some "fun" every once in a while. ha

same here i downshift to first from second at like 30 MPH then the rpm,s go to like 5k, which is the perfect torque range for this car, and then u over steer, floor it, then counter steer, "some times i like to feint to get my weight goin but thats only if i drop from 3rd to second going alot faster 0_0" and play with the throttle, but make sure its above 4k rpms at al times or else u will lose the small amount of torque u have in that range and the car will straighten out. thats just powering into it one day when i get my sti or my silvia s14 oh i cant wait =). drifting in an auto is not impossible

There are not any tracks that I know of where you can practice drifiting so...................

This is not a sport. Just wannabee racers who can't race, but get a kick out of sliding.

Drifiting on any public road is very dangerous.

wow i would not go that far to say they are wannabee racers do u have any idea the precision drifting requires? not only is it really hard to drift correctly, but its super fun, if people would rather race sideways on a track than traditionally, why would you try and put them down? drifting is an art form, its kind of like professional dancers, and then break dancers, would you say they are just wannabee dancers? i would not, its an art form and its something they enjoy, so who are you to judge what someone else enjoys.

for beginners? If yes, that's a start in the right direction to get the idiots off the road.

By the way.. any drift in the street in considered wreckless driving by police.

Regardless whether you have control or not.

I know people that have a wreckless driving ticket for spinning tires at a stop light.

well when ppl ask how do i drift...these responses are inevitable ...they have less horsepower its hard to stay in gear or drop gear and some of the autos dont even have an lsd

Take the car you (or your mommy and daddy) bought back to the dealer and get a 6-spd manual. The RX-8 is awesome but crap when its autotragic.

Stop trying to drift a brand new car especially if you don't even KNOW how to drift. I foresee my insurance rate going up because of someone like you going into a tree.

I never got into the drifting craze...and to think they have "pro" drifters!? I'm a road race guy myself...I like knowing there is a clear winner in a race. As for drifting, a win comes down to what the "judges" thought was a nice drift line...pretty subjective.

BTW, auto's suk!!! HAHA!

why would i do that when i want an auto? I would hate to drive manual especially on my long bumper-to-bumper drives to school, i just want a nice looking car thats unique and i dont have to wobble around a stick every time i wanna drive.
