help needed on aem intake

hey guys i just installed my aem intake and i have a few wires that need to be plugged in somewhere from the old air box i dont know what to do with them are they supposed to be taken out and how?? one of them is green which was taped with the MAF senor and the other one has hoses pluged on it, idk what to do with this, help me out plz

How does it feel to be modding a system that you have no idea about?

Just askin.....

The wires are for the VFAD system you took out, you don't need to connect them. You can also remove the solenoid valve they go to, since you have no idea what it does.

The only critical item is to plug off the hose nipple under the throttle body, it can cause a CEL.

here is the pictures, take a look, and let me know how u remove the green plug? do u just leave it hanging or cut it off?

i didnt take off this part, where should i pull it off from? because there is the little hoses? should i pull it off all the way from where its plugged from?

oh okay i understand that so just tape the green connecter to the side? so it doesnt go in the way.?

Like I said above... keep the vacuum chamber on the OEM air box since you no longer need it.
As the AEM instructions say... remove the vacuum line and cap the inlet at the manifold (which is behind the throttle body).

I just put an AEM in my 8 and I never had to disconnect any wires. Also to let you know I made mine a short ram because the full system hangs low and I was afraid water would go through the intake and into the engine. Just my thoughts

So you've made a hot air intake out of a cold air intake?


Ummmmmm yeah

So ... wasn't there a water sock that came with your AEM setup?

It still pulls cold air into the engine, it is a short ram now instead of the full system. It is a lot louder then the full system. No it didn't but I have one now, but I love the sound of the short ram so I'm just leaving it as that.

See paperclip on the options for your reply, scroll over and attachments appears, follow instructions to follow. Generally works for me.

it would have been a lot easier if i used my computer the whole time, ive been using my iphone and it doesnt have the option.
