Go for the G.

Although I do like the mazda 3, there is a weird mix of cars on the list.

I agree that the mazda 3 will be a better first car though.

whatever you get, get a mazda. They're amazing cars. I drive an auto rx8 and my girlfriends getting a mazda3 hatch.

Don't go Auto 8.

I liked the recomendation to get a stick 3. The 3 is still a nice car, and IMO a better starter.

My second choice would have to be the tC. Not a big fan of the G35.

just wanted to give an update on the situation. Today I went to a bunch of places to look at some used cars. The only used scion tcs I can find are manual which my dad wont let me get so that is basically out of the question. I went to see used G35s and they are nice cars and have a strong v6. While I was there I happened to see a used TSX which was in great shape for 15000. What do you guys think about that car. The G35 was only 500 more but with more mileage. This weekend I am going to look at an auto rx8 just for the heck of it

the tsx is a nice car. personally, it looks a bit squashed and i prefer the lines of the TL far more.

i'd go for the G35 if you HAVE to have an automatic. i think an automatic g35 > automatic rx8. and the G35 is the best out of the bunch, especially since its still correct wheel drive. (rear. lol.)

The TSX would be my choice out of that list, but I think you should still fight for getting a stick, if only just for the sake of learning. Get a Honda Fit or some other very small, very safe, very slow car just for the opportunity of learning to drive stick. It's easily the most valuable skill I've learned.
