Welcome.

Here's my experience: I've had no problems with my car to speak of really. I check the oil every couple weeks (I don't drive it every day though), put gas in it, and drive it like I'm Paul Tracy at the Long Beach Grand Prix. It's a fun car. For me, it's been very reliable, the straight line acceleration is adequate, and the handling is superb (as are the brakes!!).

I don't have any mods. I just really don't care much about enhancing it beyond stock. If I wanted faster, I would have bought something else. Others, however, have installed various exhaust and intakes, CanZoomers ECU piggyback, light flywheels, some are playing with turbochargers, and $20 metal rings that promise better power and milage (:D). There aren't as many aftermarket parts yet as there are for some cars however.

Hope this helps.

I'd take the tiburon off of your list for sure. A friend of mine just got one, V6 2.7L. I drove it yesterday..., shifting feels rough, not only through the foot, but also trying to get it slotted in gear. The shifter felt like it was binding on something going from 1st to 2nd. Also the steering is nowhere near as tight. The styling is OK, but there really is no comp between the Tiburon and the RX8.

With the cars in your list, I'd pick the RX8 hands down. If you wanted to spend a bit less than you would on the RX8 and still get a very nice car, you can get a fully tricked out Celica GTS (with tax/title/license) for around 25,000 depending on your state tax. If I remember correctly the Celica gets around 24/27MPG. The shift assist takes some getting used to, I test drove it six times, almost bought it. But my true love was the 8.

I've only had mine for three months and I love every minute of it. The only service I have had so farr was when I ran over a nail getting on base and had to get my tire repaired. I'm not having the loss of oil problem some are reporting, but I am only getting 13-14 MPG.

Hopefully some of thee senior members around here will chime in. But the best way to get info in this forum is to look around a bit first. Chances are there is a post that will cover anything yoyu might want to know. Either click around, or do a search. Welcome to the forum.
