low subwoofer / low gain problem? *solved*

hello.. so i hooked up my 10 inch sub and everything powers up fine. but for some reason, i have to set the gain, bass boost and the frequency all at 100% to get any kind of sound.. ofcourse.. the sounds doesnt sound too good since its all distorted because the gains are all set too high. Is this normal? I have an scosche SLC4 LOC and tried to tap both the pre amp and the post amp singnals to see if there would be any difference but no real gains. I have a profile AP600 (300Watts RMS bridged) and an infinity perfect 10inch subwoofer. please help... thanks!

YOUR AN IDIOT DOOD! GOD I HATE IDIOTS!!!!

So after i went over the whole wiring scheme.. guess what.. polarity was all F'ed up! I tapped after the bose amp and saw that the poraity's going into my LOC is all messed up ( had the negative in the wrong place etc etc). I did most of the install after work so it was kinda dark outside even with a utility light bulb =( but anyway... solution to this is CHECK THE POLARITY!!!!! now the sub thumps the way i want it to at only 20% of the gain and about 20% on the bass boost of the amp.

yes... i feel like a moron for not double checking the polarity. I've been scratching my head all weekend and finally checked the polarity after work today. I coulda saved myself a weekend of banging my head agaisnt the wall if i woulda took a few minutes to check it

You know, I was going to post to check the polarity and got called into the install bay and never had a chance to do so, at least you figured it out.

been there, done that. So don't feel too bad about it. :P

Then there was the time I had the + and - wires backwards... I went through about 20 fuses before I figured that one out.
