Look, there are are three valid arguments concerning your tinted headlights:
1. They are illegal, I've posted links to both federal and state laws concerning this. If you have proof about styling laws or individual county penal codes (whatever that means), by all means post a link and I'll stand corrected.
2. They are unsafe. Simple laws of physics, you are blocking a large portion of the light that your headlights and turn signals are producing, making it more difficult for you to see and making it harder for others to tell that you are turning/changing lanes. I didn't elaborate on the story about my friend's SUV, but I will now. We were on a camping trip, on a remote logging road in Washington state. He was driving, I was nervously sitting in the passenger seat nagging him about how you couldn't see anything with his tinted headlights. His argument was much like yours, "they don't block that much light, I can see fine, they look cool". Suddenly a sharp corner came up and we slid off the road and almost hit a tree. I forced him to take them off right then and there and he said, "jesus, you were right, I can see so much better now". True story.
3. The third argument is that they look tacky. True, this is subjective and people's tastes vary, but I think most people on here would agree.
Now, go take those tinted headlight decals off and go for a drive in your sleek from the factory RX-8.

Or, maybe the reason that I'm so adamant about the fact that they are a bad idea is that I've had personal experience with how dangerous they can be. Clear corners are just as illegal as headlight covers and you don't see me telling everyone to go back to their amber corners (in fact I have clear corners).
I agree, it sounds like BS, and that's why I didn't describe the incident in detail in my first post, but it is true.

I am not here to debate the issue, only give you what you wanted - a pic of my car with the tinted- out headlights. I did it when I first got the car and have since removed it. It was the thick film, like tint, that when you get it wet it won't stick until the water had dried under it.

So after having them tinted for 6 months why did you decide to remove it?

This thread kind of reminds me of a "hit song" from the 80's.
Part of the chorus goes something like this...
"I wear my sunglasses at night" - Corey Hart, circa 1984
Is the OP considering something unwise? Yeah, but who cares?
A lot of people take this crap way too seriously. Just sit back and wait for the post from the OP where he describes how he went off the road into a tree because he couldn't see the curve, and just chuckle to yourself.
