Have any third allocation pre-order people gotten the first e-mail from Mazda yet?
I just got a call in response to several calls i left friday at Mazda customer support concerning the preorder dilema.....they said "All future requests concerning your RX-8 order should be directed to your dealer. You're not on our list, but your dealer says he has you on his stock order list" ---just great, my dealer is clueless. About the pre-order gift? They threw it back on the dealer and said to take up the "mistake" with them. Please everyone, call Mazda and bitch....

.....this is not right. We took a chance in buying these cars based on a brochure and maybe an auto show. The least Mazda can do is treat us right in lew of their poorly trained dealers.
Hey DTECH, can you ask your dealer how he changed your status, so I can tell my dealer? Who/where is your dealer?

Sounds like the same thing happened to me. I didn't get into the Pre-Order program, but went ahead and put a deposit on a dealer allocation vehicle 2 weeks ago. After reading some posts here about the Pre-Order program and gifts, I asked my salesperson what she could do.
She said that my info (name, email, address) was assigned to the vehicle in their order system and essentially it has been turned into a Pre-Order sale. She also said to start expecting the email updates. I asked about the gift, but she hasn't responded yet.
Overall, the dealer has been pretty straight forward with me and has answered all my questions. Hopefully, my order has been turned into a Pre-Sell and I'll be getting this "gift" everyone is talking about.
