I love it when your standing close to your car and other people start talking about the person who owns the car :D and then you get in :D

Jenkins ... that's the best. or when people are standing around and see you pull up and get out. They're probably thinking "Dang! That guy must be drug dealer". Well, that's what I say when I see a Ferrari.

I drive by an elementary school everyday in the morning and they have a crossing guard program where the kiddies with stop signs help other kids cross. Anyways, everytime I drive by, I see those crossing guard kids oogle. Heck, I still oogle at the 8.

He took a company public during the dot-com boom and got out big before it tanked - great timing! Then after his old company tanked and shut down, he started a new company doing exactly the same thing, (as it clearly is a viable option - it's just that the bursting bubble make it impossible to sustan the burn rate his old company had), only on a smaller, more efficient scale.

He also owns a nightclub and seems to have an unlimited supply of hotties.

Usually I'm too busy driving to check what the others are doing.... But, with the xenon lights on, coming from behind, most drivers will pull on the right lane just to check the car Really handy, I should say.... And if you think this is small deal - when is the last time you've seen such polite NJ drivers?
So... I'm really glad; I get the clear road and they get a glance at a nice car.
Everybody wins !

I Work In Durant, Ok. Where Most People Consider A Ford Escort A Sports Car. So You Can Imagine What Kind Of Conversations I've Had @ The Gas Pump. I Was @ Wal-mart The Other Day, Driving Around Trying To Find A Place To Park. I Drove Buy Some Dude Walking Back To His Truck, He Was Staring So Hard At The Car He Walked Right Into The Corner Of His Truck. He Tried To Play It Off Like He Wasn't Looking. Only In Oklahoma.

Happens all the time, especially for someone who is trying to figure out what car it is. The 8 is an eye catcher.

I got my first verbal compliment today filling up at a gas station. Woman commented that my car sure looks fun to drive and that it was nice looking. I said it can be and thanked her.

Not as good as the two guys hanging out the window of their car with their camera phone taking a picture of it, but it still felt good.

Dropped my kids off at school and several children came up and said they like my car. Hmmmm...never get those reactions in the wife's MPV.

I was sitting in front of Sam's Club yesterday waiting for my wife to come out. A woman started checking out the 8; looking in the windows (they are tinted) and didn't seen me. I rolled mine down and nearly scared her to death. She thought it was a "display" car. Of course, I had to tell her all about it - she did have some knowledge about it. I opened both driver's side doors and the sunroof (red and black leather interior, etc). I immediately had a crowd around talking about it - oohing and ahhhing. My wife walked out and just shook her head. She knows I love that stuff...lol (but she does too).

Will have to check our calendar - would be great if we could go. Have had the 8 since 8/04 but haven't found too many people nearby for meets, etc.

This happens when your stoped a light- a new 911 pulls up beside you (guy/girl) in car- and the girl is checking out your RX8- but the guy-pretends to be disinterested-(money isn't everything!)

Recently in our company parking lot a Bimmer driver asks me (while staring at my 8), "is that car as much fun to drive as it looks?"

And I replied, "most definitely."

A day after I picked up my 8, I had to pick upa dog I just bought so I traded vehicles with my Mom for the day (she thinks it's "the coolest" :D). She went to a baby shower or something and was loading a couple things in the trunk and drew a crowd. All the lady's were oohing and aahing over the car and kept asking her questions about it.

Just yesterday I had to get some pics for my new insurance policy and the fellow working the counter at the garage (and, hence, the camera) couldn't shut up about it. He took the Polaroids and kept showing them to all the people waiting in line for other stuff. He was coming up with all these "facts" about the car (It's the "most stolen" vehicle in the USA, it does 0-60 in 4 seconds, it's the most aerodynamic car on the road :LOL. It was pretty gratifying.
