While I've heard the theory that a low ground clearance is causing delays in the shipments of the appearance package cars- I simply don't believe that. As stated, the corvette along with numerous other sports cars have just as low or even a lower ground clearance and they get delivered now problem. IMO, it is just a rumor that we can bicker about to buy Mazda time in delivery the pre-ordered cars. Now the theory that I DO believe, is the fact that Mazda is shipping the non-pre-ordered cars first to sell more cars sooner. Which is complete crap if you ask me. My dealer just told me last Friday that I have a 2nd week of August ETA and that I'm still considered in the 1st allocation. But yet...I asked him when he would have a demo car that I could test drive and see and he said next week at the latest! What? You're going to have a demo car (so you can peak interest to other people) BEFORE you get your pre-ordered cars in. That, my friends, is disgusting and the theory that I believe.

I think many of us who have a pre-order may just jump ship and snap up an allocated unit at dealers who have them. I'm giving my dealer some more time before I start considering that option. I have another dealer calling me every other day, he wants my business bad. My only issue is that out of the "29" units showing up not one has the color leather combination I want (do you believe that!!).. If the situation keeps dragging on like this I may have to comprise.. (assuming there are any cars left.)...

It is rather tough to hear all this great news and I'm here living vicariously through other peoples posts... LOL!! Man, I hope my car shows up this week!! If not, I'm going to go hunting for a different RX-8..

My RX-8 with the rotary accent package and splashguards arrived today, 7/21. It was one week behind the cars with no options at my dealer.

They had it ready for me to drive when I arrived. After adding a dozen miles I came back and completed the paperwork. People are practically drooling over this car. The Brilliant Black is awesome!:D

That theory seems very true in the SF Bay area. I visited two dealerships over the weekend
and both had cars to sell but their pre-orders mysteriously had not arrived.
Perhaps it is just my frustration showing since my car has been in port since June 27, but this conspiracy theory is seeming more believable every day I wait.

Maybe it is time for another Evo test drive.
