Goin back to the body shop.

Goin back to the body shop.
The hood on my car after the accident doesnt line up to well with the rest of the body panels. Even after the other body shop fixed it. So I decided tomorro I will go to another body shop to see what they have to say. Does anyone know if I can get the insurance to still pay for it or will I have to out of pocket pay this? The old body shop sorta lied to me. They claimed they replaced the hood, but it turns out they did not. I found this out buy looking at the poorly bondo'd scratch on teh bottom of the hood and the stickers of the updates are still there.

Sounds like you need to have your insurance company go after the first body shop--presumably, they charged your insurer fraudulently for work and parts that never really happened.

Call the Insurance Company
Before you do anything else call the insurance company, they are the ones who the body shop must answer to. The insurance company also has experts who can evaluate the work that the shop did, and really bring some validity to your claims. Most importantly your carrier has many more clients who need work, if the shop screws up, then their goes all of their business from your insurance company. Good luck.

Yeah that would make me mad. Tell it to the insurance company or your own. Something needs to be done. I would start with the body shop and give them the chance to improve it and give you a new hood or you will take with the insurance company about this as it does not match what was told on invoice. Nice body shop. Unfortunately every industry has the takers and losers and sounds like you found one. Sorry for the bad experience.

I finally took a hard look at the car and figured out teh exact problem.
1 the right front body panel was not alligned properly.
2 because of above stated the head light doesnt fit the hood/front bumper properly.
3 since it doesnt fit the bumper properly, they had to put the bumper on incorrectly/ certain panels are ontop of rather then tucked under.
4 since none of these line up properly the hood has a 1/2 a inch gap on each side.
I'm not going back to the body shop im going straight to the insurance company. Thanks for the advice I had no idea I can get the insurance company to revaluate. Hopefully the person who reinspects feals some pity because even my friends can point it out that it doesnt like quite all right.

Sounds to me like the body shop didn't use OEM Mazda parts for it but instead some cheap-*** aftermarket crash parts. If so, those can cause fit hell. The bad news is, if this is the case, that was most certainly mandated by your insurance company.
Go to the insurance co. first. Their job is to put the car back to the way it was before the accident - and that means to the quality level that the car was built with. Do not rest until YOU are satisfied with the results.

I had a choice between a 35 foot drop into a ditch, or a wooden stop sign .
I choose the wooden stop sign ;(
I have winters on the car..... it's just black ice. Not really much you can do .
it was -30 outside. I guess thats why it cracked like that

My blood pressure must be so high but, I'm persisting and being headstrong and bullish through this. Today I went to the insurance company and was sent to the dealership then jacks body shop then back to the insurance comp. Just so they can call the damn inspector. So Maybe it will be refixed.

Good luck Magix ...
Pete, I'd say you made the right choice, but as the driver of an LY RX-8 with the appearance package, I'm looking at that and ready to puke as I'm seeing my own car.
Replace it with the Mazdaspeed front fascia?

Glad you're being persistant, magixpuma. Make them get it right. Good luck!
Pete, you're giving me the *******! I'd like to see some pics of the MS kit. Never seen it in LY before. It'll give me something to ponder for when my bad luck rolls around or the rock chips just add up.
You know, if you were driving silver, you'd have gone in the ditch...
