Get the damn Phantom Blue, I have it, and its the best color out there. You get two different colors, one color during the day, and a totally different color at night. You wont regret it.

I'm 6'1", my head sometimes rubs against the edge of the sunroof opening depending on how far I lean back the seat. It was a little annoying at first but I'm used to it now. The only annoying thing is when I try to look behind me to back up I tend to raise up a bit and bonk my head on the roof.

I had similar issues in my MX-5, I actually ended up modding the driver's seat to sit me a few inches lower. I'm wondering if there is any way to do that in the 8.

very good point, and that is something i left out -- i'm trying to talk my fiance into getting the fit, not just an outright purchase on my part...

1. Gas

This is a sports car. If your are even thinking about gas, maybe a honda or a toyota would be better suited for you.

2. Sunroof

If you are tall, it would be a better idea to forget sunroof.

3. Color

The black and Phanton blue look really sharp. The only color this car does not look good in is silver. This is my opinion, your maybe be different.

Back to the gasoline issue. I don't think prices are going to come down that much this winter. They are forcasting a mild winter and people drive more when it is mild. With oil at or close to 90-95$ a barrel, by the time prices do start to drop, they will quickly go back up in the spring when the switch over to summer fuel formulation begins.

Of course that is the season where refineries has mysterious fires and problems that cause them to shut down thus raising the price even more.

Bottom line: Gas going below say 2.50 a gallon would be a miracle at this point. The only hope is that the economy slows down and gas consumption slows as well. Don't forget China and India and consuming more and more oil each year. Gas prices are not going down anytime soon.

Why the fit... I test drove it; it's a very boring car, save the cool gauges behind the wheel kind of reminiscent of a sports car. Other than that, I don't think it's any more efficient than a Versa, yaris, accent, etc. etc...., but it is the most expensive and smallest of the lot....

1. Gas... don't even think about it.

2. Sunroof... I'm 6'2" and still have a few inches of headroom

3. Color... I purchased an 06 at the begininng of 07 and was pretty limited in my choices (got the mazda incentive and dealer incentive) so GG was it for me

The irony is that the rx-8 is selling very well in countries where their gas prices is higher than what we have here..... So stop being a ***** and get the car or else a Civic DX for you.

A note to the tall guys-

Head room is less and less an issue as men age.

When you turn 40 or so, your *** will disappear and you'll sit lower in the seat. It usually turns to belly so that will give the front airbag a break, as well.

Also your upper body will compress and you'll get shorter. Your belt slowly migrates upward- by the time you die, your belt will be just under your armpits.

So the longer you keep your 8, the more comfortable it gets.

1. AT gets better, I mean alot better mpg than MT
2. get Red, Yellow(if u can find one) or blue, black = very hot, silver = blends with the crowd and the last thing you want is the cop not noticing you right?!?, white is really good for the rx8 too
3. Sun roof = good, I like the sun roof, but the lowered roof line is annoying at times....

I think the 8 looks good in all colours but I got BB and wouldn't go for any other colour ... except for the sand leather which I personally would have rather had black.

I don't even know how much gas costs here and I don't care. Fill it up with ultra 94 and drive off. Be back at the pump next day or two. However, I do find myself constantly watching the gauge go down just for fun (ok, not fun). Redline and it's lost a bar or close to it (maybe an exaggeration) but a small price to pay for so much coolness.

No sunroof in the 350z was actually a reason for me not to get that. Of course other reasons like no back seats and I don't like the slopping roof, the ride, etc. And I just love the 8 way better. I wouldn't avoid the 8 if it didn't have the sunroof but I'd be very disappointed without it. Oh, I'm about 5'5".

I love my sunroof. Both my husband and I fit in the car. I'm 5'2" and he's 6'3". His head has about 1/2" of clearance.

When I bought my car, I had lots of choices. Red was the only one that made my heart race when I looked at it. You have to fall in love with your car.
